Another weekend of football brought with it a fascinating mix of stories: While Robert Lewandowski ended a six-week goal drought with a hat-trick in LaLiga, the legendary Lionel Messi continued to dazzle in MLS, leading Inter Miami into the Conference semi-finals. Catch up on all that and more in our weekly Winners and Losers!

Winner: Robert Lewandowski

In a Barcelona shirt, Lewandowski had to wait 42 long days for a goal. Against Celta Vigo, though, he ended that unusually long drought in some style.

He netted three goals against the team from Galicia, helping Barcelona to a 4-2 win as the Catalans reclaimed second place, now just three points behind leaders Real Madrid.

The Polish striker proved that even at 37, he still has a wide range of finishing skills. His first goal came from the penalty spot, the second with his powerful right foot after a cross from Marcus Rashford on the left wing.

Then, in the second half, he linked up with the English international again. He met Rashford’s corner at the near post and headed in to seal the 4-2 scoreline.

Losers: Wolves

When Czech defender Ladislav Krejci moved from Girona to Wolverhampton in the summer transfer window, he was probably hoping for a much better start to his new chapter. Already November, and he's still waiting for his first league win with the Black Country club.

What's more, Wolves are currently enduring a five-game losing streak, after four straight defeats in the Premier League and one in the League Cup. The centre-back, nor any of his defensive colleagues, mustn't be happy with the volume of goals conceded either.

Over the weekend, Wolves lost 3-0 to Chelsea, making it the fourth consecutive time they’ve let in more than three goals. After 11 rounds, with 25 goals conceded, they have the worst defensive record in the English top flight.

Winner: Lionel Messi

The Argentine phenomenon once again proved he’s the man for big moments over the weekend.

His Inter Miami were on the brink of elimination in the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs, but in the decisive match against Nashville, Messi shone with two goals and two assists, almost single-handedly carrying Inter into the quarterfinals.

Inter Miami won the third match of the series 4-0; in the Conference semi-finals, they'll face FC Cincinnati.

Messi heads into the next round in top form. He’s scored or assisted in 10 of his last 11 matches, boasting an impressive tally of 15 goals and 12 assists in that time. Since mid-September, Flashscore has awarded him a perfect rating of 10 on three separate occasions.

Winners: Atletico Ottawa

The grand final of the Canadian Premier League delivered an incredible spectacle, and it wasn’t just the players, but the weather that stole the show.

On Sunday in the nation’s capital, you’d have struggled to see any green grass as the season’s showpiece match between Ottawa and Cavalry was played during a blizzard, with players battling through five centimetres of snow on the pitch.

Despite the tough conditions, both teams refused to give up on the game. The brave fans were rewarded with three goals, and it’s worth highlighting the equaliser from Ottawa’s David Rodriguez.

The American midfielder connected with a bouncing ball in the box and levelled the score at 1-1 with a stunning scissor kick in the snow! His second goal ultimately helped Ottawa to a 2-1 win in extra time and a historic title triumph.

Losers: Heidenheim

Last season, Heidenheim played European football for the first time in the club's history, but their start to the current campaign has been anything but successful.

In the first 10 rounds in the Bundesliga, they’ve picked up just five points, and after a 6-0 thrashing in Leverkusen on Saturday, they cemented their spot as the league’s bottom side.

Heidenheim conceded five goals in the first half alone. What's more, Leverkusen managed to score four times in the opening half-hour, with Czech international Patrik Schick netting twice.

Losers: Minnesota & Seattle

The decisive MLS Cup clash between Minnesota and Seattle was packed with drama. Seattle, the visitors, led 2-0 after just eight minutes, but the home side turned the game around and looked set to advance.

Two minutes from time, though, Seattle's Jordan Morris equalised, forcing a penalty shootout.

Anyone expecting the shootout to continue the goal fest wasn’t disappointed. The penalty takers, however, had a much tougher time... After 10 rounds, seven penalties had been missed or saved by the goalkeepers!

The drama peaked in the final round when Seattle's Andrew Thomas, who had come on in the 89th minute just for the shootout, missed his penalty, sending Minnesota into the Western Conference semi-finals.
