All eyes are on the Emirates Stadium in London on Tuesday as Arsenal and Aston Villa go head-to-head under the bright lights. A global TV audience joins a capacity stadium to enjoy a top-tier clash that will live up to the hype. The locals took control of the league table early, but a strong run of form has catapulted the visitors into the running. Can they challenge?

Arsenal play their third home game in a row after hosting Crystal Palace in the League Cup quarter finals and Brighton in the Premier League. The locals target a win and important three points. Aston Villa arrive in the UK capital hoping to do the double over their midweek opponents after beating Arsenal 2-1 at Villa Park just a few weeks ago.

Which team will get the desired result, the Gunners or the Villans? The biggest football betting apps available at Flashscore offer a wealth of pre-match markets, allowing bettors to predict the winner, number of goals, first scorer, correct score, and more. Gunners target revenge

Arsenal are out for revenge after suffering a narrow loss at Villa Park, and I believe Mikel Arteta’s side will claim the home win. The Gunners went to Villa Park as betting favourites, with pundits expecting them to scratch up another three points. Arsenal fell behind to a strike from Cash on 36 minutes, before Trossard got them level and Buendia won it.

Was that surprise defeat at Villa Park little more than a bump in the road or a sign Arsenal’s title challenge is beginning to unravel? We got our answer in the way the Londoners responded. Arsenal made a quick-fire return to winning ways when beating Club Brugge 3-0 to stay top of the Champions League, before doing as expected and beating lowly Wolves.

The head-to-head stats available on the Flashscore app and website now show that Arsenal v Aston Villa is always competitive. The pair drew 2-2 when they last met at this venue, with Arsenal’s most recent win over Aston Villa coming in Birmingham in the summer of 2024. The hosts face a tough challenge, but I’m backing home comforts to make the difference.

More goals on the menu

Predicting the outcome of Premier League matches is never easy, especially at this time of year. That’s why I place my trust in the latest stats at Flashscore, and my regular readers know I often lean heavily on trends from the head-to-head. You’d be surprised just how often following the form and past meetings leads to a winning bet and a strong profit in football.

You’ll be interested to learn that Arsenal v Aston Villa often serves up plenty of goals. Placing a bet on over 2.5 goals would’ve boosted your betting balance earlier this month when Villa beat Arsenal 2-1. It was also a smart approach in each of the last two renewals, including that four-goal share when Unai Emery’s team were last in North London.

Switching to the standout results of both teams adds more confidence. Arsenal recently beat Wolves 2-1, Club Brugge 3-0, Bayern Munich 3-1, Tottenham 4-1, and Slavia Prague 3-0. Finding the net is rarely a problem for Arteta’s team. Aston Villa’s recent results show a 3-2 win over West Ham, 4-3 away to Brighton, and 2-1 win at Elland Road. Back over 2.5 goals.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 10/11 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Arsenal v Aston Villa must end with three or more goals scored.

Shoot for bigger odds

We’ve kept the best for last, certainly in terms of odds, with our third pick carrying the most attractive price. Having stuck our neck on the line and backed Arsenal to win and also the game to give us plenty of goals, we continue with that approach. A bet on Arsenal to win and both teams to find the net will give bettors a run for their money and an interest throughout.

Both score in a home win landed when Arsenal beat Wolves 2-1 and Tottenham Hotspur 4-1. Arteta’s side are organised at the back, boasting one of the best defences in the league. When performing at their peak, I’d trust the Gunners to protect the zero, but a busy winter causes fatigue, often leading to mistakes. Remember, Arsenal lost two goals in Birmingham.

We also know there are plenty of goals in this Aston Villa side, and even more fighting spirit. Those in the away dressing room will believe they can leave the capital with all three points, and they have good reason to have those high expectations. Aston Villa scored seven goals in their last five meetings with Arsenal, and they’re value to trouble the home keeper again.

Tip: Arsenal win and both score @ 13/5 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You need Arsenal to win, but Aston Villa to score at least one goal in London.
