It’s gameweek three of the English Premier League season, and it doesn’t get much bigger than this.

Arsenal welcome Chelsea to Emirates Stadium for an EPL blockbuster you can follow live on Sunday from 16:30 BST. The Gunners v the Blues is one of the most famous fixtures in world football, and this weekend’s renewal will live up to the pre-match hype.

Arsenal enter with a 100 per cent record, following back-to-back wins. Chelsea also boast two wins from two attempts, making this match even more interesting. At least one of these teams will lose their perfect start, but which set of fans will be cheering at full-time?

Result - Arsenal win

Arsenal have served my followers well in the opening two games of the Premier League season. Therefore, I have no trouble backing the champions to make it three from three.

Mikel Arteta’s side kicked off with an energetic 3-0 win over Coventry City on the opening day of the season at this venue. They were then made to work for the points when edging Aston Villa 1-0 in Birmingham on Monday evening to finish August on a high.

Chelsea also have six points on the board, adding a 4-3 home win over Brighton seven days ago to the impressive 3-2 earned at Craven Cottage on matchday one. Two games played, seven goals scored, and five conceded. That gives Premier League fans an idea of what they will get from Xabi Alonso’s Blues.

I expect Sunday’s match to deliver more goals, but I’m backing Arsenal to maintain their winning run.

The home team enter unbeaten in nine league matches against Chelsea, winning six and drawing the other three. Arteta’s troops have also picked up a dozen points from Chelsea’s previous four visits to the Emirates Stadium. That run consists of 2-1, 1-0, 5-0, and 3-1 victories.

Along with a strong record over Chelsea, Arsenal have also given fans plenty to cheer about when playing their neighbours. The locals have won all but one of their last 29 games versus opponents from the UK capital. That’s the kind of trends that matter to football bettors.

Here, two ambitious teams meet, with an embarrassment of riches in attack and star-studded squads. Arsenal have scored four goals so far, with Chelsea on seven, but the game will be won and lost at the opposite end of the pitch.

Arsenal have yet to concede a goal, allowing just one shot on target in the first two matches. Compare that to Chelsea, who have already leaked five goals and allowed a dozen shots on target. A stronger and more settled defence will make all the difference here.

Tip: Arsenal win @ 4/6 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Arsenal use home advantage to defeat Chelsea on Sunday, this pick wins, and you’ll boost your betting balance.

Both teams to score - Yes

Moving to my second suggested bet from North London, and it’s another that’ll work best in your multiples, including Premier League accumulators and Arsenal v Chelsea bet builders.

Placing a bet on both teams to score would’ve returned a profit in three of four EPL and cup matches involving the Gunners and Blues last term. That run shows a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge late last year, and a 3-2 win for Arsenal back in January.

The last time Arsenal entertained Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, a bet on both teams to score won. Backers would’ve been counting their profits by the end of the first half that day.

Let’s dig a little deeper.

In the last 10 renewals of this world-famous fixture, both teams scored on six occasions.

Arsenal may not have conceded a goal so far this season, but both teams to score landed in Chelsea’s two appearances. The same bet was settled as a winner after 23 minutes against Fulham and at 35 minutes against Brighton.

Alonso has his team playing attractive football, creating lots of chances, and scoring goals. They remain fragile at the back, and Arteta has the firepower to take advantage.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 3/4 (bet365)

Bet explanation: The winning team and scorers don’t matter here. You need Arsenal and Chelsea to get at least one goal each.

Anytime scorer - Saka

Following a strong start to the season, with profits in our pockets, we shoot for a winner at higher odds.

Bet on Bukayo Saka to score anytime during the match. An early goal from the 24-year-old Londoner to make it 1-0 to Arsenal pays the same as him netting late in a 4-1 defeat. If he scores a goal, you’ll score a profit.

Saka has found the net in each of his previous two Premier League appearances. Arsenal fans may recall their number seven scoring five games in a row earlier this year.

Can Saka make it three from three, matching the efforts of Alexandre Lacazette back in 2020? At odds of 15/8 on the bet365 app, it’s worth a gamble.

Saka played 61 times for Arsenal and England last season, across several competitions, from the Premier League to the World Cup. In those games, he returned 16 goals, including a sublime hat-trick against France in a thrilling bronze medal match.

Tip: Saka to score @ 15/8 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You need Arsenal attacker Saka to score at least one goal against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
