Bernardo Silva could be approaching the end of an era at Manchester City, with the inspirational midfielder opening up to the idea of a new challenge as his contract enters its final months.

One of the defining figures of Pep Guardiola’s reign, Silva has been central to City’s dominance in English and European football.

However, there is a sense that the 31-year-old may be ready to turn the page this summer.

Juventus are among the clubs to have made early enquiries about Silva’s availability, and information at this stage suggests there is a genuine belief he could leave the Etihad at the end of the season.

The Italian giants are monitoring the situation closely, aware that Silva’s contract status could spark interest from across Europe and beyond.

That level of attention reflects the intriguing moment Silva now finds himself in.

With his deal winding down, he has the freedom to assess what kind of challenge he wants next - whether that is a new league, a new culture or a different role at a pivotal stage of his career.

A return to Portugal cannot be ruled out. Benfica, where Silva developed before moving to Monaco and then City, are understood to have an appealing proposal prepared.

The prospect of returning as an established star does carry emotional pull.

Staying at Manchester City always remains a small possibility as Silva has already extended his stay beyond what many expected, as his affection for the club and Guardiola is well documented.

Yet at this stage, as City prepare for the next phase of their evolution, this summer feels like a natural moment for change.

If Silva does depart, he will do so as one of the most influential players of the Guardiola era.
