Premier League side Brentford beat Gil Vicente, from Liga Portugal, the country's top flight, 1-0 in a training match on Friday.

The match, held at Brentford's facilities in London, was decided by a solitary goal from young English striker Romellle Donovan.

The team from Barcelos travelled to England following a 'strategic collaboration protocol' signed on Thursday between the heads of the two clubs.

The agreement between Gil Vicente and Brentford, currently 11th in the Premier League, includes the sharing of methodologies, innovation and good practices, with no financial participation on either side.

The protocol also provides for an exchange of knowledge to boost the development of the clubs and their players.

Immediately after this training match, the Gil Vicente delegation returned to Portugal, where they will prepare for the forthcoming match against Benfica in Barcelos.
