The Saturday lunchtime kick-off in the Premier League sees fifth take on sixth, as Everton welcome Chelsea to Hill Dickinson Stadium (12:30 GMT). Everton have been very much on brand this season. They are difficult to beat under David Moyes and their six games so far have delivered 13 goals in total.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have been the polar opposite under Xabi Alonso. Their half-dozen Premier League outings to date have yielded a remarkable 28 goals, with their attacking brilliance matched by a concerning defensive frailty.

So will we see a typically Evertonian dogfight – or a Chelsea-esque barnstormer – on Saturday?

An All Action Contest?

To be fair, it does Everton a complete disservice to describe them as one-dimensional.

The Toffees have actually created 20 ‘big chances’ this term, which is one of the best records in the Premier League this season. That includes eight against Hull City last time out.

So, if Moyes’ men were a bit more clinical in the final third, they would have scored more goals this term – that is undeniable… and an angle we want to lean on with our bets here.

Chelsea’s defending has bordered on the comical at times this season, with 13 goals conceded – no team has shipped more in the EPL. There’s no magic wand for Xabi Alonso to wave, so we have to expect another goal-laden contest on Saturday.

But it would be foolhardy to write off the Blues. No player has more goal involvements in the Premier League this term than Joao Pedro, while Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers are more than capable of scoring or creating.

All of the signs point towards both teams finding the net at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Tip: Both Teams to Score @ 4/7 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if both teams find the net.

Three’s the Magic Number

If we consider 4/7 to be a fair price for BTTS, then we also have to surmise that 4/6 is decent value for Over 2.5 Goals, too.

And why not? It’s a selection that has landed in all six of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far, and while Everton are a more circumspect opponent, don’t forget that they can play their part in an attacking sense – and they’ve already conceded two goals in contests against both Hull City and Manchester United.

There were exactly three goals when these two sides last met in March, with Everton running out 3-0 victors. Things have changed since then, with new players and a different head coach seated in the Chelsea dugout, but the general principles of the teams remain the same.

The Blues have conceded in their last 22 Premier League games, but with their front three of Palmer-Rogers-Pedro, they have the class to score against opponents in world football.

We’re expecting plenty of goalmouth action on Saturday…

Tip: Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/6 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if there are three or more goals in the game.

Martinez to the Rescue

You wonder just how many more goals Chelsea might have conceded but for the brilliance of Emiliano Martinez in goal.

He’s made 20 saves in five Premier League games this term. Only four goalkeepers have made more, but they’ve each played one match more than the Argentine.

As noted already, Everton are capable of creating chances and they offer a threat at set pieces, too. Chelsea have shipped six goals from set plays – the worst record in the Premier League, so Martinez may be called upon more often than he’d like.

His recent totals for saves made in Premier League games are 4-8-3-3-3, so we like the chances of this 3+ line to land once again on Saturday.

Tip: Emi Martinez 3+ Saves @ 8/13 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez makes three or more saves.
