Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged with making an indecent video of a child, police have said.

Coote was sacked by referees' body the PGMOL in December 2024 following an investigation into a video allegedly showing him making derogatory comments about Liverpool and their former boss Jurgen Klopp.

Now, he has been charged that on January 2nd, 2020, he made an indecent video of a child of category A, which is the most serious category, as reported by Sky News.

The 43-year-old is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, September 11th and is currently on conditional bail.

The BBC reports that the force added the charge of making an indecent photograph related to acts such as downloading, sharing and saving material.
