Live updates

20:30 GMT - That concludes our coverage tonight. Thanks for joining us this weekend and we'll be back midweek for more Premier League action!

20:10 GMT - Pep Guardiola has given his reaction to Sky Sports and said Man City have "a bright future" despite being "far away" from being champions this season.

"If you lose, you have to lose the way we lost today. I saw many things that this club has a bright future with the players that we have," he said.

"Except Kevin De Bruyne and maybe Nathan Ake, all the players are so young. What the club decides next for the future, there is a bright future in the next years.

"Everyone knows that a part will be here next season for the older players but we have to build for the next step. There is a question of time. Even with the amount of absences we have, we played well. They break the lines and can break behind you. They really threaten, but we bring them there and all we missed is the final third.

"We are far away. We will see in the future. What we have done in previous seasons is good but now we are away from them. We played with personality which was really good."

19:18 GMT - Liverpool manager Arne Slot told Sky Sports that his side "know what we have to put in" to win the league.

"There is no secret. We are 11 points clear but Arsenal has one game in hand. The best attack we had didn't end in a goal. You always have to adapt to the challenge you have. A week ago we experienced how difficult Wolves at home was. They will always be difficult games, like today," he said.

"It is easier for us to not get excited because we know what we have to put in. This result was more about defence than attack. It is normal for fanbases to be positive and it is important to understand why we are where we are."

19:00 GMT - Dominik Szoboszlai was asked whether he heard Liverpool fans chanting "we're gonna win the league".

"I didn't hear it, I was so tired!" he told Sky Sports. "We have to keep going and Newcastle (on Wednesday) is going to be a tough game and then 11 more games to go.

"It never ends so we have to keep calm and keep going and at the end hopefully, we will get there."

18:50 GMT - Mohamed Salah has been speaking to Sky Sports after scoring and assisting against Man City.

"We need another title," he said. "Me and the big guys in the team, we need another title.

"It is incredible. It is a very hard place to come and play here. They are a tough team and they have an incredible manager I am glad in the end we won the game.

"It is special. Especially when you are in the title race, it is incredible. Hopefully we keep calm because sometimes the pressure gets to us. We try to win each game."

18:24 GMT - FULL TIME! It's all over. Liverpool go 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League with 11 matches to play - seven of which are at Anfield.

After beating Man City you get the impression they already have one hand on the title. It's surely just a matter of when, not if.

18:23 GMT - "We're gonna win the league" sing Liverpool fans in the Etihad. Few would bet against them now.

18:19 GMT - There will be four minutes of time added on and Man City fans are walking out. This is a superb away performance from Liverpool.

18:04 GMT - We have 15 minutes remaining and the rain is pouring down in Manchester.

17:45 GMT - NO GOAL! Curtis Jones taps the ball into an empty net but the 'goal' is ruled out for offside. Man City survive.

17:34 GMT - We're back underway.

17:18 GMT - HALF-TIME! Liverpool go in ahead at the break. Ominously for City, Liverpool have have won their last 54 Premier League games when they've led by two or more goals at half-time, since losing 4-3 to Bournemouth in December 2016.

As it stands, the Reds will go 11 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and 20 ahead of Man City in fourth. They are looking like champions elect with each passing minute.

17:16 GMT - There will be two minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

17:08 GMT - GOAL! Dominik Szoboszlai receives the ball from Mohamed Salah and doubles Liverpool's lead with a thumping low drive into the net with Ederson stranded.

17:00 GMT - NO GOAL! Omar Marmoush lashes an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner but the goal is ruled out for offside.

16:45 GMT - The Salah stats keep coming. The Egyptian star has now scored 16 away Premier League goals this season, the joint most by a player away from home in a season along with Kevin Phillips in 1999/00 and Harry Kane in 2022/23.

Can he break the record this afternoon? He has at least 75 minutes to do so.

16:44 GMT - GOAL! Liverpool take the lead and who else? Mohamed Salah takes a shot from a corner and the ball deflects into the back of the Man City net.

It's Salah's eighth goal in his last eight matches to bring up his 30th goal of a quite remarkable season. It's also the 32-year-old's fifth 30+ goal season in eight years at the club. Incredible.

16:30 GMT - Referee Anthony Taylor blows his whistle and Liverpool get the game underway.

16:07 GMT - Attention quickly turns to the Etihad Stadium and whether Liverpool can go 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League with a win at Man City. We're just over 20 minutes away from kick-off.

16:00 GMT - One for future football quizzes: Newcastle’s Alexander Isak scored his 49th and 50th Premier League goals, making him the highest scoring Swedish player in the competition's history, overtaking Freddie Ljungberg (48).

There were just 111 seconds between his first and second goals against Forest.

15:58 GMT - FULL-TIME! It's all over and Newcastle climb to fifth in the table after hanging on to beat Forest 4-3. What a game!

15:54 GMT - GOAL! Oh my. On the stroke of 90 minutes Ryan Yates collects the ball from a corner and fires home! 4-3

There will be three minutes of time added on.

15:45 GMT - There are 10 minutes left at St James' Park. Can Forest grab a third to put Newcastle under pressure? Forest have improved dramatically in the second half and it has been 30 minutes since the Magpies last attempted a shot in the match.

15:27 GMT - GOAL! Newcastle sit back and Nikola Milenkovic prods the ball home with a cheeky flick from a Chris Wood pass to give Forest hope. 4-2

Wood has been crucial for Forest this season (no pun intended!). In fact since Christmas, only Mo Salah (13) has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than the 33-year-old (11 - eight goals, three assists).

15:20 GMT - The team news for Man City's match against Liverpool has dropped and Erling Haaland isn't included in the squad.

15:12 GMT - Fabian Schar smacks the post with a header for Newcastle. So close to being 5-1 but Forest hang on.

15:09 GMT - We're back underway for the second half.

15:07 GMT - Some half-time reading, here's a recap of the weekend in the SPL with both Rangers and Celtic both suffering shock defeats.

15:01 GMT - In case you're wondering, Nottingham Forest are only the sixth side ever to go 1-0 up in a Premier League match but then trail by three or more goals at half-time.

14:53 GMT - HALF-TIME! The whistle blows and (most of) St James' Park applauds a quite remarkable first half. Four goals in 11 minutes has turned this game - and Newcastle's European hopes for next season - completely around.

Half-time stats
Half-time statsOpta by StatsPerform

14:56 GMT - It seems a long time since Hudson-Odoi gave Forest the lead, but we're not even half-way yet. In fact the board goes up and we will have seven minutes of time added on.

14:41 GMT - Alexandar Isak has taken just 76 Premier League appearances to reach 50 goals in the competition, with only six players in the history of the league hitting that tally faster.

14:35 GMT - GOAL! Newcastle are in dreamland. Isak scores his second goal in as many minutes to make it 4-1, and we have only played 35 minutes. What a comeback this is. Forest have totally collapsed.

14:32 GMT - GOAL! Ola Aina appears to foul Anthony Gordon in the box but Jarred Gillett waves play on. The game is stopped for a VAR check and a penalty is awarded! Up steps Alexander Isak and it's 3-1!

14:26 GMT - GOAL! And just like that, Newcastle are ahead and St James' Park erupts! The ball ricochets in the area and Jacob Murphy is on hand to prod the ball into the net. 2-1

14:23 GMT - GOAL! Lewis Miley collects a pass from Lewis Hall and fires low into the bottom corner to pull Newcastle level! 1-1

14:18 GMT - Since the start of last season, no player has more Premier League goals from outside the box than Callum Hudson-Odoi (seven).

14:06 GMT - GOAL! That didn't take long! Jacob Murphy gives the ball away and Callum Hudson-Odoi thumps home to give Forest the lead inside the opening 10 minutes. Nick Pope was left stranded. 0-1

14:00 GMT - Referee Jarred Gillett is the man in the middle, and we're underway.

13:50 GMT - We're 10 minutes away from kick-off.

13:25 GMT - Away from the Premier League for a moment to bring you some Eredivisie news as Robin van Persie has been announced as the new manager at Feyenoord.

The former Arsenal and Man Utd striker will reportedly sign with the club on Monday through to June 2027.

Van Persie began his career at the Dutch side in 2001, winning the UEFA Cup later that year, before signing for the Gunners in 2004.

You can read more on this story here.

13:08 GMT - A fun fact heading into this afternoon's earlier kick-off: aged 18 years and 298 days, Lewis Miley is the youngest player to feature in 25 Premier League matches for Newcastle, beating the previous record set by James Milner in 2005 (19y 131d).

11:05 GMT - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hit out at former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher after the Englishman's criticism of Erling Haaland during the week.

Carragher had implied that Haaland didn't want to face Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger: "Let me work this out, Haaland has gone to the manager in the morning and said he's not fit?

"Do you think that's got something to do with Rudiger? Is that because Rudiger is playing?"

Read Guardiola's fiery response here.

09:51 GMT - Good morning and welcome back to our Football Tracker! We've got two mammoth Premier League fixtures to cover today, starting off with Newcastle v Nottingham Forest at 14:00 before Manchester City v Liverpool at 16:30.
