18:40 GMT - After Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool in their 2-1 win over Wolves earlier this afternoon, here's how things stand in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot after matchday 25.

18:31 GMT - James Maddison has been speaking to Sky Sports after he made his long-awaited return from injury to help Spurs beat Man Utd.

"It's always difficult being out injured," he said. "You miss one game or 10, you are always champing at the bit to get back. I went into the game today knowing I can be the difference.

"I'm really proud of the boys, obviously it has been an up and down season, we are not where we want to be in the league table. I'm really happy for the lads and for the fans, we're sending them home happy.

"I've always been a goalscoring midfielder. That's why Spurs brought me to the club. I'm there to be that creative outlet and score goals."

18:21 GMT - FULL-TIME! It's all over. Tottenham have done the double over Man Utd and climb up to 12th in the table. They win at home for the first time in 105 days. Man Utd stay in 15th with 29 points from 25 games.

18:19 GMT - We are in to three minutes of time added on.

18:08 GMT - It's end-to-end at the moment with 10 minutes to play. Dejan Kulusevski shoots on goal and it's comfortably saved by Onana. It's only the second time Man Utd have faced 20+ shots in a Premier League game this season, also facing 24 in the reverse fixture against Spurs in September.

18:02 GMT - We are in to the final 15 minutes and it's a very nervy atmosphere. Can Man Utd find a breakthrough or will Spurs put the game to bed?

18:00 GMT - Man Utd go on the attack but Joshua Zirkzee's tame header floats wide. What a miss!

17:56 GMT - Brennan Johnson is allowed acres of space and charges towards the Man Utd goal. The ball finally finds its way to Heung-Min Son whose deflected shot ricochets over. That was a big opportunity for Spurs.

17:45 GMT - Ruben Amorim is pacing up and down the touchline. I wonder what he's thinking...

17:43 GMT - Garnacho runs through on goal but shoots straight at Vicario. The ball kindly falls back to his feet but his pull-back is, well, awful and Spurs clear.

17:40 GMT - Spurs are on top in the second half and should have doubled their lead, but Mathys Tel's shot / poke / swipe sees the ball fly over the bar.

17:33 GMT - We're back underway in London.

Here's an interesting stat regarding Garnacho's glaring first-half miss for Man Utd (see 16:54): of all players to have at least 10 big chances in the Premier League this season, the 20-year-old forward has the worst big chance conversion rate (2/14 - 14.3%).

17:18 GMT - And the half-time whistle blows. Tottenham lead Man Utd at the break.

Half-time stats
Half-time statsOpta by Stats Perform

17:16 GMT - There will be one extra minute of time added on at the end of the first half.

17:10 GMT - Man Utd are really struggling to get a foothold in this game. We have around five minutes left of the first half and Spurs have had around 70% possession so far.

16:58 GMT - Mathys Tel has a shot on goal that Onana does well to tip around the post. It's a frantic game.

16:54 GMT - Alejandro Garnacho goes through on goal and spanks his effort flying over the bar. Goodness me, what a miss.

16:43 GMT - GOAL! And just like that, Tottenham are ahead! Lucas Bergvall has a shot on goal that Andre Onana can only parry into the path of James Maddison who lashes home. United will be rueing all their missed chances to score the opening goal.

16:41 GMT - Man Utd have made a bright start and have been peppering the Spurs goal, with Vicario pulling off decent saves from Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.

16:30 GMT - We're underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Referee Peter Bankes is the man in the middle.

16:15 GMT - Attention quickly turns to London and the bottom half of the table clash between Tottenham and Man Utd. Kick-off is just 15 minutes away.

It's a huge match for both managers with Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou in urgent need of points.

15:56 GMT - FULL-TIME! Liverpool have survived an almighty scare to beat Wolves and go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Huge credit to Wolves who fought back, but they go away empty-handed. Wolves stay 19th - two points ahead of Ipswich and Leicester - in the battle to avoid the drop.

15:51 GMT - There will be six minutes of time added on. Can Wolves find a late equaliser or will Liverpool hang on?

15:40 GMT - Marshall Munetsi runs through on goal for Wolves but he's adjudged to be narrowly offside.

15:37 GMT - It's getting nervy for Liverpool. Virgil van Dijk has been booked (and has now picked up 16 cards for the Reds - the same number of yellows in the Premier League for Liverpool as Sami Hyypiä).

15:28 GMT - Wolves have had five more shots and seven more touches in the opposition's box than Liverpool so far in this second half. The Reds are yet to attempt a shot. Can they make the final 20 minutes count?

15:25 GMT - GOAL! Game... on! Wolves have a way back into this! Jean-Ricner Bellegarde plays a brilliant pass through to Matheus Cunha who thumps the ball past Alisson. 2-1

15:21 GMT - We have around 30 minutes left at Anfield but in London the team news has dropped for Man Utd's trip to Spurs which gets underway at 4.30pm.

The match will be the first Premier League game to see both teams make five or more changes to their previous starting line-ups in the league since Chelsea v Manchester City in May 2023.

15:17 GMT - Emmanuel Agbadou takes out Diogo Jota in the box and it appears to be a stonewall penalty, but replay the footage and it's not so clear-cut. Referee Simon Hooper takes a look at the monitor and it's overturned. Correct decision, but that was a huge scare for Liverpool.

15:10 GMT - Salah has the ball in the back of the net but it's ruled out for offside. It's frantic stuff at Anfield.

15:09 GMT - Munetsi runs through on goal but his shot is brilliantly saved by Alisson. What a chance that was for Wolves.

15:04 GMT - We're back underway. Couple of changes at the break: Jarell Quansah replaces Ibrahima Konate who was booked in the first half for Liverpool, and for Wolves, Marshall Munetsi comes on for Pablo Sarabia.

Munetsi becomes just the eighth Zimbabwean to make an appearance in the Premier League.

15:50 GMT - HALF-TIME! Liverpool go in 2-0 at the break and they look odds-on to move seven points clear at the top of the table.

15:47 GMT - There will be three minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

14:38 GMT - GOAL! Jose Sa hacks down Luis Diaz in the box and after a VAR review referee Simon Hooper points to the spot.

Up steps Mohamed Salah and... you know the rest! He rifles the ball into the roof of the net to double Liverpool's lead with eight minutes of normal time remaining until the break.

Salah has successfully converted his last nine penalties in the Premier League, last failing to score on New Year's Day in 2024 against Newcastle.

14:30 GMT - Dominik Szoboszlai spanks an effort on goal that drags narrowly wide. That was Liverpool's sixth attempt on goal, but their only one on target was Diaz's goal. Will they rue these missed chances?

14:25 GMT - Wolves have their work cut out. They have failed to win any of their last eight league matches when conceding first.

14:16 GMT - GOAL! Liverpool are ahead after a fantastic break! Diogo Jota releases Luis Diaz who picks out Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian's cross is deflected into path of the onrushing Diaz who stumbles in the box - but the ball bounces off his chest and bobbles over the line.

14:10 GMT - It's an end-to-end opening to the game with both sides looking to stamp their authority on the match but Liverpool, as expected, have the majority of possession.

14:00 GMT - Referee Simon Hooper blows his whistle and we're underway at Anfield!

13:58 GMT - The players are walking out and we're moments away from kick-off.

13:35 GMT - Liverpool will move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League if they beat Wolves; but their relegation-threatened opponents will be looking to put a five-point gap between them and the bottom three with a win of their own.

13:30 GMT - It is expected that Arne Slot will be in the dugout for Liverpool this afternoon, but it's not yet confirmed.

Slot was shown a red card along with his assistant Sipke Hulshoff at full-time against Everton but have until Wednesday February 19th to respond to the FA charges.

12:52 GMT - The teams have been announced and it's an especially strong line-up for Liverpool given the Reds have tricky fixtures against Aston Villa, Man City and Newcastle over the next 10 days.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will make his 250th Premier League appearance today and, at 26 years and 132 days, will be the youngest player to reach that figure for Liverpool in the competition, surpassing Steven Gerrard's record in December 2006 (26y 200d).

12:40 GMT - We are just over an hour away from kick-off in the first match of the afternoon at Anfield, and we'll bring you team news as soon as we have it.

10:46 GMT - Ahead of the match in London, Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim has said his team's faltering fortunes on the pitch are partly responsible for the job cuts that have swept through Old Trafford.

Speaking on the eve of the match, he said: "We are not winning, we are not in Champions League, so the revenues are not the same... I want to say that the responsible (people) is the first team."

You can read more on that story here.

09:30 GMT - Welcome back to the Football Tracker and after all the excitement from yesterday there are two crucial matches at either end of the table this afternoon.

Liverpool could extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points with a win at home to Wolves - who in turn are nervously looking over their shoulder at the bottom three - while the later kick-off sees season strugglers Man Utd and Tottenaham go head-to-head in London.

20:34 GMT - We're wrapping things up for the night, thanks for joining us and we'll see you again tomorrow!

20:29 GMT - Having lost 2-0 at Newcastle in the League Cup semi-final second leg before an extended break due to their early FA Cup exit, the Gunners returned to action with a vital victory.

"The first half, we struggled to get momentum because we did a lot of simple things wrong, but the second half was very different," Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said after Mikel Merino inspired a 2-0 win against Leicester.

"Mikel obviously made a huge impact to score the two goals."

19:47 GMT - Arguably the player of the day in the Premier League was Omar Marmoush, who scored an excellent first-half hat-trick in Manchester City's 4-0 rout of Newcastle earlier today.

19:40 GMT - Bayern Munich struggled but gave their hopes of regaining the Bundesliga title a boost by holding Bayer Leverkusen to a 0-0 draw, making this the first goalless meeting between the German giants since April 2017.

The draw takes both Leverkusen and Bayern to a sixth consecutive match unbeaten across all competitions, although the point suits the Bavarians much more, as they sit eight points above Die Werkself atop the Bundesliga table with 12 matches remaining.

19:11 GMT - GOAL! Everton are back in front as the ball falls kindly to new boy Carlos Alcaraz, who makes it 2-1 to the Toffees.

18:39 GMT - GOAL! The home side start fast and Palace are level.

Everton struggle to clear their lines from a corner and the ball eventually drops to Mateta, who dinks it home.

VAR takes a lengthy look for an offside but the goal (eventually) stands. It's all square.

18:35 GMT - We are back underway at Selhurst Park.

18:24 GMT - Away from our shores, there's a massive game between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen at the top of Germany's Bundesliga.

It's half-time at the Allianz, and it's goalless so far.

18:20 GMT - HALF-TIME! It's 1-0 to Everton after the first 45 minutes.

18:15 GMT - GOAL! It's against the run of play, but Everton won't care.

Beto gets on the end of a swift counter from the Toffees to put the visitors 1-0 up against Palace.

17:52 GMT - Not a lot to report in this game so far. Neither side quite playing to the same standards that saw Palace beat Manchester United and Everton draw with Liverpool in their respective last league outings.

17:30 GMT - Peep peep! Referee Anthony Taylor blows his whistle and Everton get the game underway.

17:28 GMT - The players are coming out of the tunnel. We're moments away from kick-off at Selhurst Park!

17:08 GMT - There have been 16 goals scored in six Premier League matches today and there's one game to come with Everton - still bouncing after their dramatic equaliser at home to Liverpool midweek - at Crystal Palace, who will be buzzing after their win at Old Trafford last time out.

See below how they will line up with just over 20 minutes to go until kick-off.

16:47 GMT - Erling Haaland has gone down injured holding his knee, and is replaced by Matheus Nunes. The 24-year-old takes a seat on the bench rather than walking down the tunnel, so that's a positive sign at least.

We are going into time added on around the country...

16:41 GMT - GOAL! Man City have a fourth against Newcastle, and Bournemouth have a third at Southampton!

James McAtee gets on the scoresheet at the Ethiad while Marcus Tavernier - recently back from a long injury lay-off for the Cherries - scores his first goal in six months.

16:39 GMT - Time is ticking for Aston Villa, and their fans know it: 10 minutes left against the 10 men of Ipswich. With Man City, Bournemouth and Fulham all currently winning, this could be a hugely damaging result that could see them rooted in ninth.

16:31 GMT - GOAL! Hold the back page! Is this the start of a monumental comeback for the Saints? Kamaldeen Sulemana pulls one back against their bitter rivals Bournemouth, thumping low into the bottom right corner. Game on! 1-2.

16:29 GMT - GOAL! Heartbreak for Ipswich as their lead lasted just 13 minutes. Unlucky for some. Ollie Watkins, who could have moved to Arsenal last month if transfer rumours were to be believed, taps home after Marcus Rashford smacks the post with a free-kick. 1-1.

16:27 GMT - We have around 20 minutes of normal time to play. As a recap: 10-man Ipswich are leading Aston Villa, Fulham are 2-1 up at home to Nottingham Forest, Brentford are holding a narrow 1-0 lead at West Ham while Man City and Bournemouth are coasting against Newcastle and Southampton respectively.

16:20 GMT - GOAL! Fulham have re-taken the lead over Nottingham Forest! Calvin Bassey scores his first goal of the season - almost a year to the day since his last league goal (against Man Utd on February 24th 2024). 2-1

16:19 GMT - Aston Villa have failed to win any of their last seven matches when conceding the first goal in the league while Ipswich have avoided defeat in their last three matches when scoring first..

16:15 GMT - GOAL! Incredible! Totally against the run of play 10-man Ipswich have scored at Villa Park. Liam Delap scores his 10th goal of the season and slides on the pitch in delight.

As things stand, Ipswich will move up to 18th behind Wolves on goal difference.

15:42 GMT - RED CARD! Axel Tuanzebe has been shown two yellow cards in the space of 12 minutes and has been sent off by referee Robert Jones at Villa Park.

Ipswich are still drawing 0-0 at Aston Villa, but will need to play over 50 minutes with 10 men.

15:28 GMT - GOAL! Nottingham Forest have equalised at Fulham through Chris Wood who has scored three times in his last nine league games against the Cottagers.

15:33 GMT - GOAL! What an impact Marmoush has had! He scores a hat-trick inside 33 minutes at the Etihad Stadium and City take a 3-0 lead over a shell-shocked Newcastle.

City have now scored 29 first-half goals in 25 games, more than any other team in the Premier League this season.

By contrast Southampton, who are currently 2-0 down to Bournemouth, have conceded 30 first-half goals in the same number of games, more than any other Premier League team this season.

15:19 GMT - GOAL! Manchester City have taken the lead over Carabao Cup finalists Newcastle. New signing Omar Marmoush scores his first goal for the club.

As things stand, City will climb up to fourth in the table with Bournemouth in the top five on goal difference.

15:17 GMT - GOAL! Goodness me. Bournemouth have doubled their lead at Southampton with two goals in two minutes. After assisting Ouattara for the first, Ryan Christie steps up to pile pressure on the Saints.

15:15 GMT - GOAL! Dango Ouattara has given Bournmouth the lead over south coast rivals Southampton, while Fulham have gone ahead at home to high-flying Nottingham Forest through Emile Smith Rowe.

15:04 GMT - GOAL! Kevin Schade has opened the scoring for Brentford at West Ham but there's a VAR check for a possible offside...

Referee Darren England eventually blows his whistle and the goal is given! What a start for the Bees in east London.

15:00 GMT - We're underway in our afternoon matches. How will Man City react after losing against Real Madrid midweek? Can Nottingham Forest cement a top-three spot? Will Aston Villa close in on the top six and Brentford or West Ham get closer to the top half? It's time to find out...

14:48 GMT - Mikel Merino has been speaking to TNT Sports after scoring both goals in Arsenal's 2-0 win at Leicester.

"(Mikel Arteta) told me to come in as a striker this morning," he said. "We were talking about it a little bit with one of the assistants. It is the first time in my career that I've played that position.

"He told me to go with my strengths and luckily I could help the team with two goals today."

The 28-year-old went on to say both goals were a belated Valentine's Day present for his wife after he forgot to buy her a proper gift yesterday. You can read more here.

14:18 GMT - GOAL! Arsenal break quickly and the ball finds its way to Leandro Trossard who sends in a delicious cross into the box that Merino sweeps home to double their lead.

14:10 GMT - GOAL! Nwaneri sends in a fantastic curling cross that Mikel Merino heads in to the back of the net. Arsenal go 1-0 up and move four points behind Liverpool as it stands. What an impact from the substitute!

14:07 GMT - For the second time in the match Ethan Nwaneri hits the frame of the goal! The 17-year-old runs into the box and thumps an effort that smacks the upright. Can either side find a winner with 15 minutes to go?

Raheem Sterling comes off for Mikel Merino.

14:04 GMT - And now it's Leicester's time to go close! Jordan Ayew sends in a low cross that Miles Lewis-Skelly does brilliantly to poke the ball away from Bobby De Cordova-Reid with the goal gaping.

13:52 GMT - That was close! Ethan Nwaneri whips a curling shot towards the top corner and it agonisingly clips the bar. Relief for Leicester.

13:48 GMT - There's not many options for Arsenal on the bench but you feel they simply must win this afternoon with Liverpool against Wolves tomorrow.

13:41 GMT - It's a frantic and end-to-end start to the second half as the game finally comes alive.

13:20 GMT - Victor Kristiansen whips in a cross and Wilfred Ndidi heads narrowly wide. Easily the best chance of the match so far.

13:16 GMT - There will be four minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

13:12 GMT - Make that 42 minutes... meanwhile James Justin comes off injured for Leicester and is replaced by Woyo Coulibaly.

13:00 GMT - We've played 30 minutes and neither side have posed any threat in the match so far.

12:39 GMT - Wilfred Ndidi has the best attempt in the match so far, but his shot is comfortably saved by David Raya in the Arsenal goal.

12:30 GMT - Referee Samuel Barrott blows his whistle and we’re underway.

12:27 GMT - The players are walking out of the tunnel at the King Power Stadium. We're moments away!

12:00 GMT - There are 30 minutes to go before we get underway in the west Midlands. It's going to be a cold and wet afternoon.

Arsenal could close the gap on Liverpool to four points with a win while Leicester will climb out of the bottom three with maximum points.

11:20 GMT - The team news has dropped for Leicester v Arsenal, with just over an hour to go before kick-off.

This is the first time the Gunners are starting a Premier League game without any of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus or Kai Havertz since a 2-0 win over Brighton on the final day of the 2020-21 season.

09:00 GMT - Hello and welcome along to the Football Tracker ahead of a busy weekend of Premier League action!

After Brighton's remarkable 3-0 win over Chelsea last night - a result that Blues head coach Enzo Maresca labelled the worst of his time at the club - attention turns to the other sides in the top six and whether anyone can chase down Liverpool at the summit.

Among the highlights today, Arsenal - back from their sunny training base in Dubai - face Leicester, Man City will look to put their Champions League woes behind them at home to Newcastle while high-flying Nottingham Forest travel to Fulham.

There's also a couple of derbies in the mix with Southampton v Bournemouth and West Ham v Brentford, while Aston Villa take on Ipswich, and Everton - still buzzing from their last-gasp draw at home to Liverpool midweek - against Crystal Palace closing out the day.
