Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has spoken to the press as he prepares for the clash against Newcastle United.

Separated only by goal difference in the middle of the Premier League, Tottenham meet Newcastle at St. James’ Park. Spurs’ loss on Saturday marked their 10th Premier League home defeat of 2025 and Frank will be relieved to see his side play away from home this week.

Frank pleads with fans to back Tottenham

Tottenham have lost six of their last seven games against Newcastle, including each of their last four. Frank will hope to turn that record around this week in what should be a very tough game.

Frank firstly addressed fan animosity after his side’s loss to Fulham at the weekend, which saw fans booing their own side after the final whistle.

“I completely understand the frustration. If we don't win there will always be frustration. We have not won much at home this season and also last so the frustration can grow. It's my job to do what we can to have calm.

“We are nothing without the fans. Tottenham Hotspur is nothing without the fans. My point was that during matches, we need each other. Afterwards, the booing can be fair. During, we need to make it a fortress and to do that we need to be together.”

Tottenham suffered their 10th home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League against Fulham, their joint-most home league defeats in a single calendar year in club history. Frank was asked about his sides’ poor form and on his defence, conceding 13 goals in four games.

“You can say the four goals we conceded against United and Fulham are some of the goals I'd like to avoid more.

"I think they had five and seven shots, the xG was very low. In the other two we conceded too many shots.

Team news

Despite the toxic atmosphere around the club at the moment, Frank switched to team news and revealed that the whole squad is ready to try and turn their form around and climb up from 12th in the table.

"Everyone ready for the Fulham match is ready for Newcastle tomorrow."

Tottenham also have Cristian Romero back from a yellow-card suspension this week who should replace Kevin Danso in the backline in what is a defensive boost for Frank's side who desperately need it at the moment.
