Fulham were the better team for the bulk of the match, despite a late surge by Spurs.
Match report
Reeling from a 4-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal in Igor Tudor’s first game in charge, Spurs and their interim boss could certainly have done without conceding in the seventh minute at Craven Cottage.
A deep cross found its way to January addition Oscar Bobb, whose ball back into the danger zone deflected up off Conor Gallagher before falling invitingly for Harry Wilson to lash home an emphatic volley.
Wilson’s ninth league goal of the season was soon confirmed after VAR dismissed Tottenham’s appeals for a potential foul on Radu Drăgușin in the build-up.
Matters got worse for the struggling visitors when former Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi doubled Fulham’s advantage with just over 10 minutes before the HT interval.
Picking the ball up from deep, the Nigeria international neatly exchanged possession with Wilson to create the space to produce a side-foot finish from outside the box, generating the required power and precision to fire in off the far post to make it eight consecutive PL games in which Spurs have conceded at least two goals.
Another ex-Arsenal man, Emile Smith Rowe, spearheaded Fulham’s quest for the game’s next goal after the restart, driving a left-foot shot just wide of the far post before seeing another effort thwarted by the onrushing Guglielmo Vicario.
The home team’s failure to put the game to bed offered encouragement to the visitors, who reduced the deficit through Richarlison with over 20 minutes left to play.
The substitute had the simple task of nodding in from close range after meeting Archie Gray’s inviting cross towards the far post.
Richarlison’s strike ultimately proved to be a false dawn for the relegation-threatened side, as they fell to a defeat that makes Tudor the first person to lose his opening two games as Tottenham boss since ex-Fulham manager Martin Jol in 2004.
The north London club remain just four points above the dotted line in 16th, while a league double over Spurs moves the Cottagers up to ninth.

Post-match comments
Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor to Sky Sports:
"We were not good, lacked everything. Attacking and defending. Fulham were much better. There are problems here, big problems. We need to stay calm, believe in what we are doing in training, and get out, staying all together.
"These are not things to speak outside, we speak in the dressing room. The problems are more complex. The first half was not enough."
Fulham boss Marco Silva to Sky Sports:
"It was a game for us to win in a different way in terms of goal-soring, the superiority was clear from the first half to last moments of the game. So many chances. We were clinical in the first half, and in the second half, we created a lot of chances.
"If you don't kill the game with a third goal, it's always open if they score one goal, and they did that. But I have to be delighted, creating chances like we did today shows quality. Creating the chances inside the box was top-level from us."
