Last season was only the third time since the award was launched in 2004/05 that two goalkeepers shared the prize, but with a host of clubs looking to improve on last term the challenge to win it has seemingly never been greater.
We take a look at the top seven contenders ahead of the new Premier League season.
David Raya (Arsenal)
The 29-year-old Spanish international starred for the Gunners last season and is the bookies' favourite to become only the third goalkeeper (alongside Pepe Reina and Joe Hart) to win three Premier League Golden Gloves in a row.
Arsenal conceded the fewest goals in the league last season (34) with Raya keeping 13 clean sheets, and their defence has been boosted by the arrival of Valencia's highly-rated centre-back Mosquera for £13m.
Golden Glove odds: 5/4
Alisson (Liverpool)
The Reds ran away with the Premier League title last season and are once again favourites to regain their crown this time around.
As well as a formidable forward line they can be assured at the back with their 32-year-old Brazilian single-handedly, literally at times, keeping their title hopes alive. Expect the same this season.
Golden Glove odds: 5/2
Ederson (Man City)
Surely Man City won't struggle as badly as they did last season. Manager Pep Guardiola has boosted his squad in nearly all areas and the 31-year-old goalkeeper will feel hot under the collar after seeing James Trafford return to the club for £27m from Burnley.
Ederson remains City's number one choice between the sticks, for now at least, and will be keen to stamp his authority as he bids to remain an influential figure in Guardiola's rejuvenated team.
Golden Glove odds: 5/2
Robert Sanchez (Chelsea)
The 27-year-old was a key figure for the club last season with the newly-crowned Club World Cup champions and Europa Conference League winners looking to improve on their patchy form last campaign.
Chelsea ended their league season by conceding only two goals more than title-winners Liverpool, and with a renewed impetus running through the squad Sanchez could be among those challenging for the award this time around.
Golden Glove odds: 10/1
Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham)
Tottenham’s disastrous league form last season saw them ship the second-highest number of goals (65) among the teams that avoided relegation.
Yet the Europa League winners are heavily backed to climb the table this season under new boss Thomas Frank and will be reliant on their number one keeping their defence in check.
Golden Glove odds: 20/1
Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)
Villa's chief protagonist riles opposition players and fans around the world, but the Argentine's ability is clearly undisputed and on his day the 32-year-old remains one of the world's best goalkeepers.
The Villans were thrilling to watch at times last season with Martinez playing a starring role as they narrowly missed out on Champions League football. Martinez will once again be called upon as they bid to climb the table.
Golden Glove odds: 25/1
Nick Pope (Newcastle)
The Geordies will be looking to cement their place in the top four and will be heavily reliant on an in-form Pope keeping them there.
The 22-year-old has made 73 clean sheets out of 221 Premier League appearances, and with a World Cup on the horizon, this season could be crucial as he looks to challenge Jordan Pickford's status as England's number one.
Golden Glove odds: 33/1
