Match report
A cagey first half that desperately lacked quality saw Fulham fail to even register a single shot on goal. Leeds’ best chance to break the deadlock fell to new signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who headed Brenden Aaronson’s cross straight down Bernd Leno’s throat.
Calvert-Lewin also headed down for another summer arrival in Sean Longstaff to strike just over from the edge of the box, but there was plenty of room for improvement come the second half from both sides.
Leno was called into action a couple more times in its early stages, first reacting well to Anton Stach’s effort, before getting behind Jayden Bogle’s strike. Fulham then finally had the chance to record a shot on goal before the hour mark, as Harry Wilson’s deflected free-kick was parried away brilliantly by Karl Darlow.

Approaching the latter stages, Rodrigo Muniz had a similar chance to Calvert-Lewin in the first half with a free header that went straight into Darlow’s arms, but the goalkeeper then had to be alert to divert substitute Emile Smith-Rowe’s shot onto the post.
A goalless draw had long since looked an inevitable outcome by the time stoppage time rolled around, but a bizarre moment in stoppage time saw Fulham steal the points. A corner was swung in towards Gabriel Gudmundsson, who inadvertently headed backwards into his own net.
The Cottagers therefore recorded their first win of the season as a result, keeping just a second clean sheet in 12 home league fixtures, while the Whites’ losing streak in London in the top-flight stretched to nine matches.
