As he prepares for two international friendlies in the coming days, Sweden striker Alexander Isak has stated that he is fully focused on completing the season with Newcastle United and not thinking about where his future lies.

The likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with Isak in recent months, with some reports that Newcastle want around £150 million to prize him away.

Isak has three years left to run on his current deal, but the Magpies are said to be lining up a new contract to tempt the 25-year-old to stay at St James' Park.

But speaking to Swedish agency TT, Isak suggested there was nothing concrete from either Newcastle or any of the supposed interested parties.

"I don't know so much, to be honest. There are no discussions. It's the same with Newcastle, no one is talking about a contract extension."

Isak was one of Newcastle's heroes at the weekend, scoring the winning goal against Liverpool in the EFL Cup final at Wembley, as the club won its first domestic trophy in 70 years.

However, according to Isak, there is still more that he wants to achieve this season, as Newcastle remain in the hunt for the FA Cup and qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

"This season is not over. There are nine matches left. We have had a really good season so far, but I have bigger ambitions and to finish on a better note."

Whether finishing this season also means finishing his time in the northeast of England remains to be seen, but Newcastle fans will be wary that Isak believes most of his ambitions there have been achieved.

"My dream when I came here was that we would develop as a club, win things, go to the Champions League. Most of it we have done," he said.

Before returning to Premier League action with Newcastle against Brentford on April 2nd, Isak will feature for Sweden in their friendly matches in the coming days.

They travel to Luxembourg tomorrow, before hosting Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
