Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly in line for a surprise return to the Emirates in a coaching capacity after stepping down from his role at Norwich City.

The 33-year-old previously worked with Arsenal’s under-18s before leaving to join Johannes Hoff Thorup’s coaching staff at Norwich.

Wilshire was named the club’s interim manager following Thorup’s dismissal, but then departed when Liam Manning took over.

According to the BBC, the former Arsenal and England midfielder could be set to rejoin his old club.

Wilshere is being strongly considered for the under-21s job, although no concrete decision has been made by Arsenal yet.

He is clearly trying to take the next step in his managerial career after interviewing for the Plymouth Argyle job after Ian Foster’s exit.

Unfortunately for Wilshire, he lost out to former Man United midfielder Tom Cleverley, who already has experience managing in the Championship with Watford.
