Match report
Liverpool’s start was promising, but they were made to pay for their wastefulness almost immediately after Cody Gakpo dragged his effort wide of Bernd Leno’s far post.
Jorge Cuenca’s forward pass was ingeniously flicked beyond the visiting defence by Raúl Jiménez, allowing Harry Wilson to break through and bury a low finish into the far corner. Despite being flagged offside in the first instance, a lengthy VAR check confirmed the Welshman’s sixth PL goal of the season.

That took the away side by surprise, but they did very little to respond to it, having just one shot through Curtis Jones prior to the HT break.
Their threat increased significantly in the second half though, as Alexis Mac Allister crashed a close-range header onto the bar in the lead up to his side drawing level. Conor Bradley surged forward and into the area before flicking the ball on to Florian Wirtz, who curled a left-footed finish beyond Leno – his second in three matches.
Interestingly, the offside flag was again raised before VAR intervened to allow the goal.
Having not experienced much joy in the final third since their opener, Fulham pushed forward to try to retake the lead.
Their best chance came when Alisson was caught out of position in stopping Jiménez from racing through, prompting Wilson to lift his shot over the crowd and onto the bar of the empty goal.
They continued trying to disrupt Liverpool’s play, but the Reds hit what looked to be a last-gasp winner when Jeremie Frimpong’s whipped cross was allowed to make it through to the back post, where Gakpo arrived to tap in.
But there was to be one final twist in Fulham’s favour. Having come on just moments before Liverpool’s second goal, Reed picked it up on the edge of the area and unleashed a stunning, dipping strike which found the top corner via the underside of the bar.
It preserves Fulham’s longest unbeaten run in the PL for a calendar year, while Liverpool will be frustrated to record their fourth stalemate in seven league outings.

Post-match comments
Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed says he was "a bit everywhere" when celebrating his late equaliser.
"I came on and then two minutes later they scored so I did my best to keep the boys going," he told Sky Sports.
"I knew we were going to get another chance, I thought it would be a bit more clear cut than that, but it came to me nicely.
"Kev has given me the ball and I had no other option but to hit one. What a feeling. Not sure on the celebration, I was a bit everywhere, but a deserved point definitely."
Cody Gakpo was substituted after providing what he thought was the winner late in stoppage time, and says the Fulham equaliser came so quickly thereafter that he nearly missed seeing it.
"The moment I sat down on the bench they scored," he told BBC Sport. "It's disappointing for us. We fought very hard in the second half, dominated at moments and tried to create chances to get through. At the end I scored in minute 95, they scored in minute 97 - a wonderful goal to be fair. Unlucky, unfortunate.
"This is a moment that can happen in a game. I was just sitting down so I did not see the moments before. I just saw him take a touch and shoot the ball into the top corner."
Frustrated Liverpool goalscorer Florian Wirtz said he'd happily trade his goal for a victory.
"Not satisfied at all," he told Sky Sports. "We need points and we wanted three points today. We know there's no easy game in this league.
"The intensity we brought on the pitch in the second half was much better. We didn't press them well in the first half but the second half was much better."
The German said he did not celebrate his goal as he was certain VAR was going to rule it out.
"I was sure it was offside so I didn't even celebrate," he said. "I was happy that I scored but I'd rather take the three points.
"Again, we are in a difficult situation because we drew two times. It's not what we want, we want more. We have to get better but it's still a process."
