While with PSG, Ekitike shared a dressing room with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
He recalled to TNT Sports: "I can't lie, it was hard for me to go out on the field and be able to do what they did on the same level. I don't think I've reached that level yet. It was about learning on the field, exercising, I saw a lot of great things."
On playing alongside Messi, Ekitike continued: "It's not just about skills, I learned to move without a ball, how I move the ball, how I score, confidence in the game. Looking back, it wasn't a good time for me (in PSG), but I think that's what I needed that period.
"I learned so much, I am so grateful to have been there with such good players. It's a great picture I can put in my house because I played with the best player in football history (Messi). It was nice."
When asked if he has the potential to be the best in the world, Ekitike was confident.
The Frenchman also stated: "I think I can. There is room for improvement, I have to work more, develop, but I'm obviously where I wanted to be, and I'm here. When I say I'm not afraid of anything, it's like I'm not afraid of pressure. People have expectations of me and I actually love it.
"It is exciting for me to be here, to play big matches, to play in big competitions. I've always wanted to be there and play in those kinds of matches for such a big club."
