Monday Night Football comes from Old Trafford, where Man Utd and Leeds collide. Premier League betting analyst Frank Monkhouse has three picks to consider.

Round 32 of the English Premier League season concludes on Monday evening when Manchester United and Leeds United lock horns from 20:00 BST. The Theatre of Dreams provides a fitting backdrop as two bitter rivals do battle over three precious points. The locals need a win to bolster their chances of a top-four finish, but will they delight the home fans?

Leeds United travel from their base at Elland Road to Old Trafford, needing victory for very different reasons. Daniel Farke's team sit dangerously close to the relegation zone, starting the weekend down in 15th. A win would put some breathing space between themselves and the bottom three, but beating Man Utd at their stadium is easier said than done.

Major UKGC bookmakers have Man Utd as their pre-match betting favourites, with traders confident the points will remain in Manchester. That's understandable, given how both clubs have performed this year, but the EPL is nothing if not unpredictable.

Match winner - Man Utd

Despite having over 100 pre-match markets to choose from on Monday evening's game, I'm keeping it simple for my first pick and advising a bet on Manchester United to win. A wager that's easy to place and simple to follow. Set your stake and strike the bet. If Man Utd win the match, your gamble lands. If the game ends in a draw or a Leeds victory, you lose.

Why am I so confident that Man Utd are the best bet here? There's a lot to like about how Michael Carrick has turned things around at Old Trafford. He has them firmly in the fight for a Champions League finish, thanks to an eye-catching run of form. Man Utd have won three, drawn two, and lost just one. They also thrashed Aston Villa 3-1 in their last home game.

How does Man Utd's form compare to that of Leeds? The visitors arrive on a long winless run, taking just four of the last 18 points available. Leeds have drawn four and lost two, including a 0-0 share in each of their previous two. They haven't beaten Monday's opponents in the league since 2002. Leeds did win 1-0 here in the 2009/10 FA Cup.

Tip: Man Utd win @ 4/7 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Man Utd beat Leeds at Elland Road, you'll secure a profit.

Both teams to score - Yes

Moving to the second of my three suggested bets, I'm advising both teams to score. With a fascinating and competitive 90 minutes expected, armchair fans hope to see plenty of goals. I'm confident this match will live up to the hype. With this approach, the final score, winning margin and the scorers don't matter. You need both clubs to get at least one goal each.

While studying the updated head-to-head stats in the Flashscore app, I noticed that a bet on both teams to score landed last time. Leeds hosted Man Utd at Elland Road in January, with the rivals fighting out a 1-1 draw. Aaronson scored to put Leeds ahead on 62 minutes, but that hard-fought advantage lasted less than three minutes. Cunha struck to make it 1-1.

Sticking with the H2H, a bet on both teams to score paid out in four of the previous five meetings. In that time, we've seen 5-1 and 4-2 wins for the favourites, before 2-2 and 1-1 draws. BTTS also won when Leeds met West Ham in the FA Cup quarter-finals recently, and when Man Utd drew with Bournemouth at Dean Court near the end of March. Back BTTS.

Bet explanation: You need both Man Utd and Leeds to score at least one goal each.

Result/BTTS - Man Utd and yes

As is often the case, I aim to sign off with a bet at higher odds. That's the plan at Old Trafford when Man Utd play Leeds before a sold-out stadium and a global TV audience. Having advised two singles, one on a Man Utd win and another on both teams to score, it makes sense to combine the two. I'm suggesting a bet on both teams to score in a home win.

Picking Man Utd and BTTS was a smart bet when Carrick's team were last at home in the Premier League. They beat Aston Villa 3-1 that day, with all four match goals scored in the second half. Man Utd and Leeds are often involved in a bad-tempered slugfest, meaning a repeat of that win over Villa is likely. As above, the final score and scorers don't matter much.

Man Utd played two home matches in the EPL last month, beating Villa 3-1 and Crystal Palace 2-1. Going back further, the hosts also edged Fulham 3-2. That trend got my attention. How have Leeds performed on the road? Well, they drew 2-2 at the London Stadium in the cup, after scoring at Villa, Chelsea, Everton, and Newcastle this year.

Tip: Man Utd win and BTTS @ 11/5 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Man Utd win, but Leeds score at least one goal in defeat, you'll boost your betting balance.
