The Toffees have won two of their first three games to make a solid start to the campaign and host a winless Villa side on the back of a 3-2 win over Wolves pre-international break.
Grealish a difference-maker
Moyes first commented on the displays of Manchester City loanee Jack Grealish, who scooped up the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.
"I'm really pleased for him. He's worked incredibly hard in games. He's looked after himself in the summer and made sure he came back with the right mindset to produce, and he has produced for us. He's made a big difference for us.
"It's nothing down to me. It's down to Jack Grealish."
Ndiaye doubtful, Branthwaite still out
Discussing the Everton team news ahead of Villa, Moyes revealed Senegal forward Iliman Ndiaye is a doubt with a knock, while defender Jarrad Branthwaite is stepping up his recovery.
"We've got a concern about Iliman Ndiaye. He's got a knock. So we'll need to see, we’re not sure how he'll be for tomorrow."
On Branthwaite, Moyes said: "Jarrad's getting closer, but he's certainly not there yet. Hopefully we get him back because he's a huge player for us. He's a player who has big value and we have lots of hopes for him."
"I think it'll be a few before we're at that stage (of Jarrad returning)."
'Respect' for Villa
Moyes then looked toward the opposition dugout and revealed his "respect" for Aston Villa, while antipating a tough challenge despite a slow start from Unai Emery's side.
"I've got respect for Aston Villa and I've got great respect for their manager and what they've done in recent seasons. They've been amazing.
"It's a huge game for us. They're one of the teams everybody expects to be near and around the top."
Pickford contract talks
Finally, Moyes spent some time commenting on Jordan Pickford's future, with his focus on tying down England's number one goalkeeper to a new contract.
"He's done brilliantly well over the years. I had him at Sunderland when he first started. No doubt, we'll be doing everything we can to make sure we get Jordan re-signed."
Also reflecting on Everton's summer transfer business, Moyes added: "I don't think we could do it all in one transfer window, and I don't think we have.
"The players we've brought in, we hope they can add to it, but if they do as well as the players last season, I'll be more than happy."
England call for Garner?
There was time for Moyes to praise versatile midfielder James Garner, who has performed excellently this term and could throw his hat into the ring for an England call-up down the line.
"He's an incredibly versatile player and we are fortunate to have him. I think I was on the England staff I would be keeping a close eye on Jimmy Garner at the moment."
Moyes also hailed the displays of defender Michael Keane, saying: "He has played really well... his performances have warranted getting good attention, he has done well."
