Brentford forward Yoane Wissa is close to agreeing a deal with Newcastle United, as the Bees already have a replacement lined up.

Wissa returned to first-team training earlier this week following talks with head coach Keith Andrews, who spoke to him after he tried to force his way out of the club.

However, the DR Congo international is still seeking a move away from the club, and reports suggest that he wants nothing but a move to the Magpies this summer.

As reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, negotiations have already started for the 28-year-old who has no intentions of staying with Brentford ahead of the new season, which begins next week.

"Yoane Wissa, pushing now to join Newcastle as negotiations between clubs are underway.

"Brentford are working on Ouattara deal and that can open doors for Wissa’s exit, as @SkySports_Keith Reports.

"Wissa keeps pushing to join #NUFC."

The BBC report that Brentford will consider selling Wissa but value the forward at a figure significantly more than the £25Mplus £5m offer they have received from Newcastle in the last month which was low for the forward who scored 20 goals and provided 4 assists in all competitions last season.

Bournemouth’s Dango Ouattara is seen as Wissa’s replacement and as Romano reports the deal will go through once he has signed for the club. This is much like Liverpool’s pursuit of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak who will not depart unless the club find a replacement in what is a huge transfer merrygoround at the moment.

While Wissa has returned to training with Brentford, his future is still to be decided and until Ouattara signs for the Bees, he will not be able to join Newcastle which means Isak cannot leave to Liverpool just one week before The Reds face Bournemouth in the opening game of the season.
