Welcome to a brand new segment here with Flashscore: our Premier League Player of the Week - where we take a closer look at the player with the highest rating in the top flight over the weekend.

Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno earned the highest individual rating for the opening round of fixtures in the Premier League - a whopping 9.4 out of 10 as his side beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park.

The German made an outstanding nine saves from nine shots on target in a match that the away side really didn't look like winning, playing a major role in earning the Cottagers three points to start their campaign.

Everton had an xG of 3.07 but were denied time and again by Leno.

Take a look at all of his saves below.

His man of the match display saw Fulham come away from a tricky opening day fixture with a win - Leno's clean sheet backing up Bobby De Cordova-Reid's second half strike.

The former Arsenal shot stopper's most impressive moment came during the second period, producing a superb save to deny Alex Iwobi's long-range strike.

He also came out on top in numerous one-on-one situations.

Fulham will hope the German can continue his fine form when they host Brentford on Saturday.
