The big games just keep on coming for football fans this week. Round five from the English Premier League arrives hot on the heels of the opening games from the UEFA Champions League. Everton make the short journey to the home of their great rivals, taking confidence from a positive start. David Moyes' team have seven points on the board following a defeat, two wins and a draw. We last saw the Toffees in action when they ended goalless at home to Aston Villa. Will they go four games unbeaten, proving themselves as contenders?
Those packed into the away end at this world-famous stadium have reason to be confident, but I'm sticking with the form side. We switch to East Sussex, where Brighton host Tottenham Hotspur. The home team finished a respectable eighth last season, but hasn't started this campaign very well. Tottenham travel from the UK capital, looking to build on their third-place position. Spurs have begun the season well, taking nine points from the first dozen available, scoring eight goals and allowing only one. They bounced back from a surprise loss when hosting Bournemouth to hammer West Ham United 3-0 in Stratford.
Brighton are no pushovers, especially on their patch, but there's something exciting and easy to like about this Tottenham team. They've hit the ground running under new manager Thomas Frank, who knows what it takes to get success at this level. We're backing the team that's higher in the table with more goals scored and fewer conceded.

Man Utd v Chelsea, Saturday, 17:30 BST
Saturday evening heralds the return of one of the best-loved fixtures in world football: Manchester United v Chelsea at the Theatre of Dreams. United haven't started well and come in on the back of two humiliating results. They were eliminated from the League Cup by Grimsby last month and opened September with a stinging 3-0 reverse at the Etihad.
Chelsea, the current FIFA Club World champions, start fifth in the table with an unbeaten record that suggests the good times will return to Stamford Bridge. The Blues journey from London to Manchester, with two wins and a pair of draws, beating West Ham and Fulham, but drawing with Crystal Palace and Brentford.
I'm going to stick with the stats here and bet on a draw in the match result market. Incredibly, the head-to-head at Flashscore shows six of the previous 10 have ended all-square, including a 1-1 draw when Chelsea were last in town. There's been one goal or fewer between the sides at full-time in all but one of those 10 games.

Fulham v Brentford, Saturday, 20:00 BST
A West London derby at Craven Cottage headlines Saturday's schedule, as Fulham play Brentford. The Cottagers are in mid-table with a sketchy one win, two draws and a defeat. Marco Silva's hopefuls beat Leeds United 1-0 here last time, and supporters view this as an excellent opportunity for six points from six this month.
Brentford travel one place lower in the table than their hosts, currently 12th with four points on the board. The Bees scored a surprise home win over Aston Villa, but that solitary victory stands between defeats to Nottingham Forest and Sunderland. Keith Andrews guided his team to a point against Chelsea last weekend, adding belief to the ranks.
Saturday's headliner will be competitive from the opening whistle. There's little between the teams on paper, making for an interesting derby. With eight goals in a pair of meetings last term, this match will be interesting. Fulham have the home advantage, won last weekend and when Brentford were last in town. I'm picking Fulham to edge Brentford.

Bournemouth v Newcastle, Sunday, 14:00 BST
Bournemouth fans feared the worst when watching their team lose 4-2 at Anfield on the opening day of the season. However, happier times were ahead. Andoni Iraola's side dusted themselves down and went on a three-game winning streak. The Cherries beat Wolves and Tottenham 1-0 last month, before a 2-1 over Brighton here last weekend.
Newcastle endured a difficult summer and an exhausting transfer window. Now that the team is settled for the remainder of the year, the squad is expected to climb the table. The visitors had drawn one and lost two before last week's hard-earned 1-0 home win over Wolves. Debutant Woltemade got the winner, and the Toon Army hope it's the first of many.
Both Bournemouth and Newcastle are capable of challenging for the major places this term, and the stats tell fans to expect plenty of goals. They shared 11 in their previous three meetings, and both teams to score would've banked you a return in 10 of the last dozen games. I'm happy to follow the numbers in this renewal.

Arsenal v Man City, Sunday, 16:30 BST
Sunday afternoon's match at a packed Emirates will be the perfect example of all things great about the English Premier League. Arsenal have won three and lost one so far, with Arteta's contenders boasting the best goal difference in the competition, at nine for and one against. The hosts thrashed Nottingham Forest here last Saturday.
Man City started the season with a bang, beating Wolves 4-0 at Molineux. Pep's team looked back to their best, but were quickly cut down to size. Man City lost 2-0 at home to Tottenham and 2-1 at Brighton. Despite back-to-back defeats, City made light work of United at Old Trafford in last weekend's Manchester Derby.
Man City have blown hot and cold this season. They looked sublime when crushing Wolves and Man Utd, but alarmingly vulnerable against Spurs and the Seagulls. Both defeats could've been worse. Arsenal, on the other hand, have been consistently strong this season and in recent years. It's worth noting that Arteta hasn't lost to Guardiola in five meetings, a streak that dates back to April 2023. In that time, Arsenal has won two games and drawn three, including a 5-1 victory here earlier this year.
