Premier League Team of the Week: Liverpool and Man Utd stars dominate

Several stars stood out in the latest round of Premier League fixtures, with it being time again to select our Team of the Week.

Manchester United continued their impressive run under Michael Carrick with a 2-1 comeback win over Crystal Palace, while Manchester City and Liverpool picked up important victories.

Elsewhere, Tottenham lost again after falling to a 2-1 defeat at Fulham and Arsenal kept their title charge on track by beating Chelsea by the same scoreline.

Goalkeeper

Jose Sa (Wolves) - 7.5

Sa was on fine form as Wolves picked up an unlikely 2-0 victory against rivals Aston Villa on Friday evening.

The shot-stopper made four saves and a huge contribution to his side keeping a clean sheet - with the result ensuring Wolves could no longer break the record for lowest Premier League points tally of all time.

Defenders

Matheus Nunes (Manchester City) - 8.4

The first of two City defenders to make our side, Nunes continued his excellent season at right-back with another top display in a 1-0 win over Leeds.

His contribution at both ends of the pitch was vital, with the defender winning seven duels, making five clearances, completing three dribbles and making three accurate crosses.

Ruben Dias (Manchester City) - 8.3

Dias follows just behind Nunes after an equally impressive display at Elland Road.

The defender made a match-high 11 clearances while also winning six duels and one tackle - on top of managing 16 passes in the final third.

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) - 8.1

Liverpool star Van Dijk got on the scoresheet in the Reds' 5-2 thrashing of West Ham on Saturday, rising highest to head home from a corner.

He was also typically reliable at the back with five duels won, five clearances and one interception.

Midfielders

Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford) - 8.7

Brentford came out on top of a seven-goal thriller with Burnley on Saturday, edging a 4-3 victory away at Turf Moor.

Damsgaard was one of the top performers and netted twice, including a 93rd-minute winner, while also providing one assist as well as 16 passes in the final third.

Alex Iwobi (Fulham) - 8.6

Former Arsenal player Iwobi enjoyed himself in Fulham's 2-1 triumph against Tottenham, getting on the scoresheet at Craven Cottage as his side moved up to ninth in the table.

Iwobi was central to his side's success on Sunday and created one big chance, completed two crosses, two dribbles, all while also winning six duels and two tackles.

Declan Rice (Arsenal) - 8.1

One of the constant features in our Premier League Team of the Week this season has been Arsenal star Rice, who once again stood out in the Gunners' 2-1 win against Chelsea.

The Englishman once again contributed all over the pitch and provided another assist while also winning five duels, one tackle, making one interception and one clearance.

Rice now has 10 Premier League goal contributions from midfield and is one of the driving forces behind Arsenal's title charge.

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 9.2

Manchester United captain Fernandes was yet again pivotal ot his side's 2-1 comeback victory against Crystal Palace.

The midfielder grabbed a goal and an assist at Old Trafford to earn a 9.2 Flashscore player rating - the highest of anyone over the weekend, which makes him our Premier League Player of the Week.

He now has seven goals and 13 assists in the league and has been central to a superb change of form under manager Carrick.

Forwards

Beto (Everton) - 8.8

Everton enjoyed a dramatic 3-2 win away at Newcastle on Saturday afternoon and Beto played a starring role.

Despite struggling for much of the campaign so far, the striker found the net at St James' Park and caused problems for the Newcastle defence throughout the match.

Beto was involved in a staggering 21 duels and won 13 of them while also completing two dribbles and having two shots in an impressive showing for the Toffees.

Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool) - 8.3

Ekitike registered a goal and two assists in Liverpool's thrashing of West Ham in what was a hugely impressive showing from the Frenchman.

The striker now has 15 goal contributions in what has turned out to be a very successful debut Premier League campaign.

Benjamin Sesko (Manchester United) - 8.0

Manchester United striker Sesko is enjoying a return to form under Carrick and scored once again in his side's win over Crystal Palace.

The striker was a constant threat throughout the match and, on top of his goal, won six aerial duels and had a match-high four total shots.
