Match report

Spurs have lost their scoring boots somewhat in the last few weeks, but having made a relatively bright start, they took the lead with only six minutes on the clock.

Mathys Tel received the ball near the left touchline before advancing into the area and sending his low effort past a number of bodies on its way into the far corner.

The away side nearly doubled their lead when Cristian Romero’s glancing header from a corner just cleared the crossbar, but their lead was wiped out shortly after.

Marcus Tavernier sent a cross into the area which was headed goalwards by Evanilson, and the Brazilian found the top corner to draw Bournemouth level.

Lucas Bergvall was one of Spurs’ bright sparks in the first half, and his effort from 25 yards flew narrowly over the crossbar just after the half-hour mark.

Not long after, however, the Cherries completed the turnaround to lead at HT as Tavernier’s ball into the area found its way through to Marcos Senesi, who pulled it back to Eli Junior Kroupi.

The 19-year-old’s subsequent first-time finish then beat Guglielmo Vicario from close range for his seventh PL goal of the season.

It looked as if an action-packed first half had used up all of the game’s noteworthy moments as the second half struggled to get going from an attacking perspective.

This was bad news for the travelling Spurs supporters, who continued to voice their displeasure at their side’s disappointing recent run of form which has seen them slip into the lower half of the table.

Having made such a positive start to the campaign - which included a 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in August - the Cherries have hit a poor patch of late, and their hopes of ending their win drought were dashed late on when Palhinha directed a loose ball home with an overhead kick to earn Spurs a point.

However, it was Semenyo who had the final say ahead of his imminent transfer to Manchester City.

In the fifth minute of added time, the forward received the ball 25 yards from goal and unleashed a powerful effort which flew into the bottom corner of the net to spark scenes of wild celebration amongst the home supporters.

The Cherries remain 15th despite this dramatic victory, but they now have renewed belief after extending their unbeaten H2H run with Spurs to four matches.

Thomas Frank's men, meanwhile, have won just one of their past six and languish in 14th.

Post-match comments

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola to Sky Sports:

"The last games we were deserving more, it can’t go every time to the other side. Today we were the ones shooting from the edge, scoring.

"A lovely moment for Antoine, very happy for him. Sometimes football gives you these things, he’s been top. He’s given everything, been committed to everything we wanted until the end.

"We gave him here all we could and I think it’s good that football gives him back this moment for sure."

Spurs boss Thomas Frank to Sky Sports:

"It's very difficult, it's really painful. The players put in everything. The first half was a fine half; we started well and went 1-0 up, but conceded two goals from second-phase set pieces, where we need to do better.

"I loved the mentality in the second half. We went out there and were completely on top. There was one team out there, and it was us.

"We got a more than well-deserved equaliser. We were the team closer to winning it in the end, so to concede an equaliser five minutes into added time is so painful in every aspect.

"The team worked so hard, it's very hard to take. You can never concede that when you've worked so hard to come back into the game though, of course."
