Match report

High-flying Bournemouth missed the chance to go top of the table (albeit only temporarily) last weekend, drawing 3-3 away at Crystal Palace.

They set about putting that right at home to Forest, and were rewarded for their positive play with an opener midway through the first half.

It was one new visiting manager Sean Dyche would not have been happy with, as Marcus Tavernier’s corner looped over goalkeeper Matz Sels and into the net without anyone else touching it.

Nevertheless, replays showed the last touch came off a Bournemouth attacker before going out of play, which will no doubt infuriate Dyche and Co.

After taking the lead, Bournemouth were in no mood to take their foot off the gas, scoring a second just before the break. This time, Eli Junior Kroupi took aim from range to net his fourth goal in his last three appearances.

Having had it all their own way in the first half, Bournemouth were pushed by Forest in the early stages of the second, with Morgan Gibbs-White starting to pull the strings in the middle of the park.

However, creating chances remained difficult, as Neco Williams’ ambitious shot was the closest they came to finding a route back into the contest.

Just when it looked like the game was drifting away from the visitors, Gibbs-White sent a curler straight towards the top corner, but having had little to do all afternoon.

Đorđe Petrović pulled off a stunning save to push it around the post. It proved the last major chance for Dyche’s men, who still haven’t won in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.
