West Ham have announced the firing of Graham Potter on Saturday after just eight months in charge of the Hammers and after a poor start to the current campaign.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss won just one game since August - a 3-0 away victory to Nottingham Forest - surrounded by five defeats.

In a statement, the club said: "Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.

The statement added: "The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect."

The search for a new manager is already underway, with the likes of Slavan Bilic touted for a return to the Hammers, whilst Nuno Espirito Santo is also on the shortlist.

West Ham take on Everton on Monday night, with a caretaker manager yet to be confirmed.
