Second-placed Rangers host third-placed Celtic at Ibrox in Sunday's mouthwatering Old Firm derby. The fierce rivals have met three times already this season, with an aggregate score of Rangers 4-4 Celtic. Will the fourth meeting bring more goals? The first match ended in a goalless draw here, before Celtic won 3-1 in the League Cup, and Rangers 3-1 last time.

With Hearts a surprise leader of the Scottish Premiership after 28 games, Jambos' manager Derek McInnes will have an eye on the game in Glasgow. The winner will keep pressure on the pace-setters, while the losers will almost certainly drop out of the title race. Rangers hope to do the double following that stunning win in the city's east end in early January.

Sunday's match is the first of a quickfire double-header, with the feuding neighbours back here next Sunday for a League Cup quarter-final. The big-name betting apps featured at Flashscore offer an impressive list of Rangers vs Celtic markets. Respected football gambling writer Frank Monkhouse uses the stats and trends to uncover three predictions.

Match winner - Rangers

Our first suggested bet in Sunday afternoon's world-famous Old Firm Derby is Rangers to bank an important win and three points. The Gers are unbeaten against the Bhoys in the Premiership this term. The first meeting of the campaign ended 0-0 here on the final day of August. It was an unusually dull affair, with both managers losing their jobs since.

Celtic did beat their city rivals 3-1 at Hampden in the League Cup semi-final. Johnny Kenny broke the deadlock in 25 minutes, before Aasgaard was sent off. Despite being a goal and a man down, Rangers got an equaliser before losing in extra time. In the most recent clash, the Gers fought back from 1-0 down at Celtic Park to clinch a stunning 3-1 victory.

The head-to-head stats show Rangers are unbeaten in five league derbies. In that time, the hosts have won three and drawn two. Interestingly, Celtic haven't won here since September 2023. Three wins and three draws have Rangers above Celtic in the league, with interim boss Martin O'Neill leading Celtic to four wins, one draw, and a loss to Hibs last weekend.

Tip: Rangers win @ 5/4 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Rangers beat Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday, your Old Firm bet wins.

Total goals - under 3.5

We dip into the totals markets for our second play, taking Rangers v Celtic under 3.5 goals. To make a profit from this wager, you need the game to produce fewer than four goals from both clubs combined. That approach proved profitable when the sides last met in Govan. It was also a smart play in each of the previous three league games here, and five of six.

Having spotted a strong trend in the Rangers v Celtic head-to-head stats at Flashscore, we shift our focus to the visitors' scoring form at this venue. Celtic failed to find the net in their most recent trip to Ibrox and have only one goal in their last three tries. They conceded three without reply, drew 1-1, and ended 0-0 last time. Adam Idah got the spare goal in that run.

Celtic arrive on the back of a painful 2-1 home defeat to Hibs last weekend, and suffered an exhausting night at Stuttgart in the Europa League on Thursday. That trip to Germany, just three days before the drive to Ibrox, will ensure there are a few tired legs in a squad that has already been ravaged by injury. Back under 3.5 goals to land for the fourth game in a row.

Tip: Under 3.5 goals @ 4/9 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Rangers v Celtic must end with fewer than four goals scored by both teams combined.

Anytime scorer - Chermiti

I'm not sure what's happening on the trading floor of Bet365, but there's real value available in the Old Firm scorer markets. There are several overpriced players in the anytime scorer market, including Ryan Naderi, Andreas Skov Olsen, Mikey Moore, Mohammed Diomande, Nico Raskin, and John Souttar. It's just a matter of finding the right overpriced player.

We're taking Rangers number nine, Youssef Chermiti, in the anytime scorer market. The big-money summer buy from Everton isn't anywhere near as consistent as Gers fans would like, but he seems to reserve his best efforts for the big matches. Chermiti has scored seven goals this term, including a brace at Parkhead in the New Year game across the city.

The young Portuguese forward delighted followers with a sensational hat-trick in his previous match at Ibrox, powering his team to a remarkable 4-2 win over Hearts just a fortnight ago. He did little of note in a disappointing 2-2 draw at bottom club Livingston last weekend, but he wasn't the only player off his game. He's a man for the big occasions, and this is huge.

Tip: Chermiti to score @ 7/4 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Your wager wins if Chermiti scores first, last or anytime in between.
