Coming into the contest on the back of three consecutive clean sheets across UEFA Champions League and Serie A duties (W2, D1), Juventus made a confident start in Parma.
Luciano Spalletti’s side went close to a breakthrough inside six minutes when Francisco Conceicao fired wastefully against the bar from close range, but that didn’t deter the visitors, who made no mistake on the quarter-hour mark.
Conceicao’s outswinging delivery was met by Bremer, and the Brazilian centre-back powered a brilliant header into the bottom corner for his second goal of the season.
Determined to press home their advantage, Juventus went in pursuit of a quickfire second, but it was the hosts who threatened an equaliser against the run of play, as Gaetano Oristanio directed a header off target from 12 yards.
Grateful for that reprieve, the Bianconeri duly doubled their lead in the 37th minute, with Weston McKennie acrobatically volleying home from Pierre Kalulu’s cross to give Spalletti’s men a two-goal cushion at the break.
Having gone close through Oristanio shortly before half-time, Parma halved the deficit within six minutes of the restart when a low delivery into the box was inadvertently diverted into his own net by Andrea Cambiaso.
The visitors’ response to that setback couldn’t have been better, as Bremer netted his second of the evening, tapping home from point-blank range after McKennie’s initial header had rebounded off the bar.
Juventus extended their advantage once again in the 64th minute, with Jonathan David continuing his impressive form in front of goal, latching onto a loose ball in the six-yard box to slot into an empty net.
That all but ended the match as a contest, and the Old Lady even went close to a late fifth when substitute Lois Openda’s crisp finish was ruled out for an offside.
Nevertheless, it was a great night’s work for Spaletti’s side, who made it seven Serie A wins from their last nine matches, moving ahead of Roma and up to fourth in the process.
