Magda Pozzo, Udinese’s strategic lead, attended the launch event for the Friulian club's new third kit, which was also attended by Maduka Okoye and Oumar Solet.
"It is a wonderful achievement to bring together fashion, young fashion talent and football. It is always very special. For us, as part of our corporate culture, discovering new football talent fits perfectly with the world of fashion. The shirt is, I have to say, stunning," Pozzo declared.
How did this project and the idea of bringing football and fashion together come about?
"I was thinking about how we have always been a club that pays close attention to scouting and strongly believes in young players. So we said: Why not work with a fashion school that trains and develops young talent? Why not bring them together and give them visibility through football, helping them promote their brand?"
I’d also like to ask you about initiatives such as sustainability, which you are very attentive to off the pitch. What steps are Udinese taking, and where is the club's future heading in this respect?
"We have to keep growing. Obviously, what happens on the pitch remains the most important thing, and our main objective is to develop the team and the club. At the same time, though, we want to continue with our project to make football part of life beyond the playing field. If our activities grow in line with our values, sustainability will remain one of our primary objectives. We are truly happy to keep moving forward with it."
One final question about what happens on the pitch: How would you describe this start to the season? Could you give us a brief assessment from your point of view?
"I do not like to talk too much about the sporting side, but the journey so far has been very positive. There is a great group, with a huge amount of teamwork behind it, as well as a very strong structure and an organisation that will bring us great satisfaction."
