Bologna stretched their impressive unbeaten away run to seven games in all competitions after holding Lazio, who had won their previous four home matches, to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A.

A bright start from the visitors saw Riccardo Orsolini hit the side-netting inside the first minute, before Gustav Isaksen forced Federico Ravaglia into a fine save from close range.

Ivan Provedel was also tested on numerous occasions in the first half, notably by Jens Odgaard after he latched onto a poor backpass to strike towards goal, only for Lazio’s goalkeeper to save well.

The hosts then took the lead themselves when Mattia Zaccagni, the scorer of the decisive goal in Thursday’s Coppa Italia triumph against AC Milan, saw his initial effort parried by Ravaglia into the path of Isaksen, who tapped home the rebound.

However, Bologna responded immediately through Odgaard, who reacted well after Provedel tipped Nadir Zortea’s shot onto the post. That leveller means eight of Bologna’s last nine games in all competitions have now been all square at half-time.

After a quiet start to the second half, Lazio almost retook the lead through Matteo Guendouzi, whose side-footed effort was brilliantly tipped away by Ravaglia.

Bologna’s goalkeeper then superbly stopped Matteo Cancellieri’s header as the hosts started to gain control.

However, the game took another twist when Mario Gila was sent off for a second bookable offence following a lunge on Santiago Castro.

Lazio still posed a threat in the latter stages despite being reduced to 10 men, but ultimately their four-match winning streak on home soil was ended by a battling Bologna side who have now only lost once in their last 15 games in all competitions, and remain in the race for the Champions League spots as they sit two points adrift of the top four.
