Sterling, 31, is one of Chelsea’s last remaining ‘bomb squad’ members having failed to secure a move away last summer.
It’s understood that the former England international was unwilling to leaving London and give up on a reported £350,000-a-week contract, with his family settled.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Sterling has changed his mind and is now willing to terminate his deal in order to secure a move away.
Napoli remain interested in Sterling having been keen in the summer, and are willing to offer the winger an exit in the January window.
