Here are the weekend's biggest winners and losers:
Winner: Riccardo Orsolini
Italy's Serie A is even tighter than it was, and Orsolini is to blame. He produced a wonderful bicycle kick in the fourth minute of injury time to give Bologna a 1-0 win over Inter Milan.
It was Orsolini's 12th goal of the season, and probably the most beautiful and most important.
"I often try it, but nine times out of ten it doesn't work," the scorer recounted. "It was a crazy finish. We're going for our dream. We don't say it out loud, but we know all too well what it's about."
Thanks to his goal, Bologna stayed fourth in the table and moved - at least for one day - ahead of Juventus in the Champions League race.
Napoli fans also sent their thanks to the player, with them now level on points with Inter at the top of the table.
Winner & Loser: Borja Iglesias
You score a hat-trick on Barcelona's field and you still end up on the losing side. For Iglesias, Saturday's game was both beautiful and cruel at the same time.
The striker scored a hat-trick for the first time in LaLiga at the age of 32, and against one of the most famous teams. He is now in his eighth season in Spain's top competition.
When he scored in the 62nd minute to make it 3-1 to the visitors, he probably never imagined that the match would turn out so bitterly. When he came off, the score was 3-3, and Raphinha took Celta Vigo's point away in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
He remained in the spotlight after the match, powerfully standing up to a social media post saying he had become the first gay man to score three goals against Barcelona: "It's like this every day. We are surprised when we hear racist and homophobic insults on football pitches. We still live in a society where respect for others doesn't exist."
Thanks to him, his club are enjoying one of their best seasons of the last decade and are not far from qualifying for European football, currently sitting in eighth position. He is only on loan from Real Betis, but with eight goals he is the team's top scorer along with Iago Aspas, and Celta's management has further incentive to seal a permanent deal after the Barcelona game.
Winner: Viktor Gyokeres
Another hat-trick and another message for the big clubs. Swedish striker Gyokeres provided three goals in Sporting's 3-1 win over Moreirense and now has 34 goals this season, double the number of goals scored by the second-highest scorer in the Portuguese league, Benfica's Vangelis Pavlidis.
"Twice I was lucky when the ball bounced off the opposition defenders. But I appreciate the goal from a direct free-kick," he said afterwards.
Logically, speculation is swirling around Gyokeres about a move to a more prestigious league, but the Swede has so far dismissed all reports.
"Do you like London?" he was asked. "I like Lisbon," he replied. "We'll see what happens, I can't predict the future, nobody can. We have a lot of important games coming up, that's what I'm focusing on."
The race with Benfica for the championship is gathering pace. With four rounds to go, both teams have 72 points.
Loser: Dynamo Ceske Budejovice
Ceske Budejovice capped off a miserable season with a 2-0 loss in Olomouc, and although they still haven't been officially relegated, it's been clear from virtually the start of the season that they will be.
They've gone 30 full rounds of the regular season without a win, which is the first time in the history of the Czech league. This is unique even in the world; at club level, only Derby County have endured a longer winless streak in a major league, going 32 games without one in the 2007/08 season.
However, they ultimately did get a win. Dynamo have five more games in the relegation playoffs to get theirs.
Winner: Rodrigo Mora
Look out, a new starlet is starting to shine.
Porto have slowly resigned themselves to missing out on the title, as Sporting and Benfica have a significant lead. That's partly why they let young talent play, and 17-year-old old Mora has taken his chance by the scruff of the neck.
He has slowly but surely become a first-choice player in the current season, and he is also scoring one beautiful goal after another. Two fabulous ones against Famalicau gave Porto a narrow 2-1 victory.
If the Dragons hadn't had the youthful midfielder, they might have been more than one point behind third-placed Braga. Mora has scored five goals in his last five games.
Loser: Leicester
When Ruud van Nistelrooy took over Leicester at the end of November, the team was 16th in the table, but from that moment on, everything got worse. Out of 20 games, the former Dutch striker has only managed to win two.
The team could not be expected to be saved by some miraculous success in the match with Liverpool, but the 1-0 home loss sealed the relegation of the club that sensationally won the Premier League in 2016 (just nine years ago). Since then, they have been relegated twice.
Leicester failed to score yet again against Liverpool, for the fourteenth time under Van Nistelrooy.
