Christian Eriksen is set to leave Man Utd when his contract runs out, but has ruled out returning to Denmark or continuing his career in the USA.

United have yet to approach Eriksen with only three months left with speculation rife that his contract will not be renewed.

"I haven't been told anything, and when I don't, I assume that the collaboration will stop. That's how I interpret it. Everyone knows that the contract expires, so I reckon there is only one way", Eriksen told TV Sport.

"I have come to terms with finding a new club. Where it will be, I don't know yet, but I am free on the market, and I have not tried that before. I was also free after the cardiac arrest, but it was a slightly different situation".

The 33-year old has no plans to return to his mother country in the potentially finishing stages of his career.

"I still feel I have a few good years left abroad. Football-wise, I don't feel I'm at the point where I want to move home to Denmark and play in the Superliga", says Eriksen who also rules out a move to the American MLS league.

"The family will not travel that far", says Eriksen.

"I haven't seen anything I really want to try, so I'll see what comes up and what suits me and the family", he added.

Eriksen is not necessarily expected to be given a chance to shine in the Nations League fixtures against Portugal given his limited playing time at Man Utd.
