Saturday, September 30th

21:45 BST - Erik ten Hag said there can be no excuses after Man Utd made their worst ever start to a Premier League campaign with a 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.

Read what he told reporters here.

21:35 BST - The full-time whistles have blown in Italy and France.

Inter Milan thumped Salernitana 4-0 to go top of Serie A - with Lautaro Martinez scoring a hat-trick 13 minutes from time - while in France, Monaco hung on to beat Marseille 3-2 and ruin Gattuso's first match in charge.

Monaco move one point clear of Brest at the top of Ligue 1 after PSG could only manage a 0-0 draw at Clermont

21:30 BST - Jurgen Klopp and Ange Postecoglou have been speaking after Tottenham's controversial 2-1 win over Liverpool.

Postecoglou hailed their win as an "important" step in his side's rapid development. You can read more here.

Klopp meanwhile blasted the "crazy decisions" that led to their defeat, as referees' chiefs admitted the Reds were denied a legitimate goal. You can read more on that here.

21:13 BST - In France, Monaco have re-taken the lead against Marseille - they’re now 3-2 up - and move top of Ligue 1, while in Italy, Inter are beating Salernitana and will also go top as it stands, but Mateusz Legowski has just had a goal ruled out through VAR for the hosts.

20:23 BST - The Professional Game Match Officials (PGMOL) have released a statement and apologised for "a clear and obvious factual error" that led to Luis Diaz’s goal for Liverpool being disallowed when the score was 0-0 (see 18:04).

19:36 BST - Real Madrid top LaLiga with a 3-0 win over Girona - who suffered their first defeat of the season - while Bayern came back to draw 2-2 at Leipzig in the Bundesliga, with Kane and Sane scoring the second half.

You can read more about Bayern's match here, and Real Madrid win - courtesy of another goal from Jude Bellingham - here.

19:32 BST - It’s all over! Tottenham find a way past nine-man Liverpool and climb to second in the league.

19:29 BST - Heartbreak for Liverpool and elation for Spurs. In the final moments of the match Matip tries to clear the ball but thumps it high into the roof of the net. Tottenham lead 2-1.

19:24 BST - We move into six minutes of time added on the end of the match - is there a final twist tonight?

19:13 BST - Tottenham are piling on the pressure. Can nine-man Liverpool hang on?

19:04 BST - Bayern have fought back from two goals down to level at Leipzig. They have 15 minutes left to find a winner! Kane and Sane with the goals.

19:03 BST - Oh dear. Diogo Jota has just been booked before lunging out Destiny Udogie for a second yellow card in as many minutes. Liverpool are down to nine men.

18:56 BST - AC Milan have beaten Lazio 2-0 at the San Siro and go top of Serie A. Their rivals Inter could overtake them with a win over Salernitana. That match gets underway at 7.45pm.

You can follow that game here.

18:52 BST - Son has the ball in the back of the net for Tottenham but the goal is ruled out for offside. It’s end-to-end at the moment.

18:45 BST - Alisson keeps Liverpool in it with a terrific save from Son. It’s still 1-1.

18:44 BST - Over in Spain, Girona - surprise leaders at the top of LaLiga - are currently trailing 2-0 at home against Real Madrid. Los Blancos will replace them at the top of the table with a win.

You can follow that match here.

18:40 BST - And we’re back underway.

18:23 BST - Out of nowhere Liverpool equalise! Van Dijk heads to Gakpo in the box who lashes an unstoppable shot into the back of the net.

Gakpo immediately goes down and appears to be injured, but is then seen jogging before coming back on the pitch. Relief for Liverpool.

Moments later the ball is passed to Diaz in the box, but he doesn’t have enough to poke it beyond Guglielmo Vicario. What a dramatic ending to the half.

18:17 BST - While it's all going well for Spurs in north London, their former captain Harry Kane isn’t having such a great time in Germany.

He's been booked and Bayern are 2-0 down away to Leipzig - the team that beat them on Kane’s debut to lift the Super Cup. It's approaching half-time there.

18:14 BST - Tottenham are purring. After some intricate play in the box, the ball finds its way to Richarlison who swipes a shot onto the post.

This could be a long evening for 10-man Liverpool.

18:07 BST - Tottenham take the lead! Maddison passes to Richarlison who finds Son to poke home from six yards out. Wonderful team goal for Spurs - 1-0.

18:04 BST - Richarlison should score. He's put through on goal but can only blast it wildly over. Liverpool go down the other end and Diaz puts the ball in the net - but the goal is ruled out for a very dubious offside call.

Huge let-off for Spurs.

17:58 BST - Well this is controversial. Curtis Jones has been sent-off for Liverpool following a tackle on Yves Bissouma.

It was initially a yellow card but upgraded to red after a VAR review. It looked a dangerous tackle, but Jones' foot appeared to slip over the ball.

17:50 BST - Over in Italy, AC Milan and Lazio are 0-0 at the break. The Rossoneri will go top of Serie A as it stands, for a few hours at least, ahead of Inter who play Salernitana from 7.45pm.

17:40 BST - It's a lively start and Spurs almost take the lead, but a cross swept in front of goal is cleared. At the other end Guglielmo Vicario is forced into making a terrific double save. Still 0-0.

17:29 BST - And we're away!

17:11 BST - We're just over 15 minutes away from the final match in the Premier League today - and it's a belter. Tottenham against Liverpool.

Elsewhere, worrying signs for Arsenal as Bukayo Saka is seen hobbling off the pitch against Bournemouth.

Man City and Man Utd are still trailing. We have a crucial final 15 minutes coming up.

16:30 BST - In League Two, leaders Notts County are 5-3 down to Colchester. What a belting match that is!

16:27 BST - Oh my! Wolves have re-taken the lead against City. Hee-Chan Hwang fires into the roof of the net against the run of play. It's 2-1!

16:19 BST - Wolves' resistance has finally been broken. Julian Alvarez fires home a free-kick for Man City to make it 1-1.

Notts County are now 4-2 down to Colchester. The League Two leaders were unbeaten since the first game of the season. What a result that could be.

16:13 BST - Penalty for Arsenal. The ball is passed around the team and Kai Havertz steps up.... and scores his first goal for the club! It's now 3-0 against Bournemouth. What a huge goal that could be for his confidence.

16:06 BST - We're getting back underway. Can Man City and Man Utd come from behind? Can Luton hang on for their first win of the season? Let's find out...

16:01 BST - Wolves v Man City half-time match stats is an interesting read...

15:55 BST - In the Championship, leaders Ipswich are drawing 0-0 away to Huddersfield, with Preston - who could overtake them at the summit with a win - trailing 2-0 at home to West Brom.

Meanwhile in League One, bottom side Cheltenham Town have still not scored in the league this season. After breaking the (unwanted) record last weekend, they find themselves losing 2-0 away to Lincoln at half-time. Oof.

League Two leaders Notts County are 3-1 down to Colchester with all teams below them currently picking up points.

We have a big 45 minutes coming up!

15:44 BST - We're approaching half-time around the grounds.

Martin Odegaard has scored from the penalty spot to double Arsenal's lead at Bournemouth and Everton have pulled one back against Luton following a VAR review.

Man City are still trailing 1-0 at Wolves despite dominating the match - they've had 70% possession and have peppered Jose Sa's goal with shots.

15:39 BST - Tomas Soucek shoots low to give West Ham a 2-0 lead against Sheffield United. This could be a cricket score given the chances the Hammers have had in this half.

15:33 BST - Luton haven't won in the league this season but are now 2-0 up at Everton. The Goodison Park faithful are used to jeering their team, but this would be a whole new low.

Moments later Newcastle came close to a second goal against Burnley after a goalmouth scramble, but the Clarets survive - for now!

15:26 BST - Crystal Palace have the lead at Old Trafford! Joachim Andersen volleys home to give the Eagles a shock lead.

Tom Lockyer has given Luton a 1-0 lead at Everton, while Jarrod Bowen has scored his fifth goal of the season as West Ham go 1-0 up at home to Sheffield United.

15:19 BST - He was doubful to play after picking up an injury against Tottenham, but Bukayo Saka has just headed the Gunners into a 1-0 lead at Bournemouth.

As it stands, Arsenal are just a point behind City at the top of the Premier League.

15:15 BST - Wolves have scored the first goal in the 3pm kick-offs with Man City's Ruben Dias sending a low cross into his own net.

Elsewhere Miguel Almiron has given Newcastle the lead against Burnley, firing a 20-yard shot past James Trafford.
