The English FA are reportedly considering sending an appeal to FIFA over Jarell Quansah's red card in their 3-2 Round of 16 win over Mexico on Sunday (July 5).

The 23-year-old was sent off just ahead of the hour mark for a rash challenge on Mexico defender Jesús Gallardo.

Quansah is now expected to miss England’s quarter-final clash against Erling Haaland’s Norway, leaving them seriously lacking at right-back with Reece James struggling for fitness.

Now, according to Sky Sports, England are considering an appeal to FIFA to have Quansah’s red card rescinded.

The English FA’s decision comes after FIFA’s unprecedented decision to suspend Folarin Balogun’s red card following intervention from President Donald Trump.
