While Spain entered the World Cup among one of the favourites, it's perhaps fair to say they have hardly set the tournament alight so far.
Belgium, meanwhile, seem to have sparked to life a little, scoring five against New Zealand in their final group game, three against Senegal in the round of 32, and four against the USA in the last 16.

They certainly won’t make things easy for Luis de la Fuente’s men, but La Roja are favourites and will be looking to make that count to reach a semi-final that would, in all likelihood, see them face France, another of the main contenders for the title.

The corner kings
Spain are expected to dominate possession and spend much more time in the opposition half than Belgium. What’s more, the Spanish side have had more corners than their opponents in every World Cup match so far.
Belgium had fewer corners than Egypt in their opening game, so we expect De la Fuente’s men to make the most of what should be a clear possession advantage.
Prediction: Spain over 5.5 corners – 10/11 (bet365)
Explanation: This bet wins if Spain wins six or more corners during regulation time.
Over 2.5 total goals
Spain have alternated between matches with more than this number of goals and others with fewer, with the clash against Portugal seeing just one late goal.
Meanwhile, Belgium’s last three matches have all produced five goals in total, so goals can be expected.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the match ended, for example, with just two goals – in fact, four of the last six meetings between these sides have ended with exactly that number.
But we’re backing three or more, as has happened in two of the last three encounters between the teams.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals - 4/5 (bet365)
Explanation: This bet wins if the match ends with three or more total goals.
Spain a pain for Belgium
Spain are favourites for this match, and we expect them to prove it within the 90 minutes of normal time, without needing extra time or penalties.
Belgium are a very tough opponent, but La Roja have a noticeably stronger squad on paper.
And they have history on their side. Spain have won their last five meetings with Belgium and seven of the last eight, with one drawn.
As a side note, the last time a match between these two teams didn’t end with a Spanish win after 90 minutes was in 1995 (1-1), and Belgium’s last win in normal time was in 1980 (2-1).
Prediction: Spain to win - 3/10 (bet365)
Explanation: This bet wins if Spain win.
