However, Thomas Tuchel's side will also have had in the back of their minds the way in which they struggled to a 1-0 win against them last time out.
Four Arsenal players in the starting XI
Villa Park hadn't been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Three Lions either, with England having lost four of the fixtures played there.
There were no real surprises in Tuchel's starting line-up, with Marcus Rashford becoming the first player to play for the national team whilst also playing his club games for Barcelona since Gary Lineker in June 1989.
The XI also had four Arsenal players starting (Myles Lewis-Skelly, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke) for the first time since October 2014 vs San Marino (Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere).
In captain Harry Kane, England had a player who had scored in all four of the games under Tuchel - the first time ever that a player has netted in each of a manager’s first four matches in charge of the Three Lions.
He'd had a hand in seven goals (5G, 2A) in his appearances at Villa Park too, so the expectation of a big home win to cement England's place at the top of Group K wasn't without foundation.
Dominant in possession
As with the reverse fixture, England dominated possession, but despite having 83.1% over the first 15 minutes of the game, the hosts didn't look like scoring.
A clear weakness down Andorra's right-hand side had been noted quite early in the game, and 43% of all of the Three Lions' attacks were down that channel.
An opening goal, when it eventually arrived, was somewhat inevitable; however, it was Andorra's Christian Garcia putting into his own net in the 25th minute, which gave England the lead.
Oddly enough, 'own goal' now has a place on the all-time scorers list for the Three Lions, coming in fifth behind Kane (73), Wayne Rooney (53), Sir Bobby Charlton (49) and Lineker (48).
A 21st consecutive World Cup qualifier scored in was, evidently, good news given that in the current set of qualifiers, England had a record of W3, D0, L0 when scoring the opening goal. Their interplay still left a lot to be desired, however.
Kane, in particular, was virtually non-existent, having just five touches of the ball in the opening 35 minutes of play. Against a team that should be there for the taking, with respect, that's almost unforgivable.
Andorra were there for the taking
To give a little more perspective as to just how dominant England were in the opening 45, Andorra hadn't managed a single shot on target and rarely, if ever, looked like troubling Tuchel's side.
The pattern continued after the break, and despite keeping hold of the ball for 74% of the time, it still took the hosts another 20 minutes to score their second.
A pinpoint Reece James cross found Rice at the far post, and his header home gave him his first international goal in four years (vs Hungary on September 2nd, 2021).
The midfielder's importance to the national team in an attacking sense is certainly continuing to grow, as it was the seventh goal involvement (three goals, four assists) in his last 12 appearances, compared to just three goals and no assists in his first 55 international games.
A flurry of late England substitutions really wasn't a surprise, and nor was the fact that with 10 minutes to play, Andorra still hadn't had a shot on target.
In fact, just one off-target shot in the box in the first half would be all the visitors would have to show for their efforts come full-time.
Not a performance to write home about
Four England players had also managed at least 100 touches by the end of proceedings: Dan Burn (139), Marc Guehi and Elliot Anderson (both 127) and Reece James (100).
By contrast, Andorran keeper, Iker Alvarez's 51 touches were the most for his side, and that ultimately was the story of the match.

A match which, like the June fixture against the same opponent, ended in a victory for the Three Lions but was hardly a performance to write home about.
History will show, however, that six World Cup qualifying wins in a row for England is their most since between 2017 and 2021 when they managed a total of nine consecutive victories, whilst a sixth clean sheet is their best return since a run of seven games between October 2009 and March 2017.
