England captain Leah Williamson is determined to win the 2027 World Cup and complete her collection of major women’s football trophies.

The Arsenal defender has already enjoyed a highly decorated career, but the World Cup remains the only prize missing from her cabinet.

Williamson missed the 2023 World Cup in Australia due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but she is now focused on helping the Lionesses go one better at next summer’s tournament in Brazil.

“The last thing on the list is obviously a World Cup. In the career that I've had, it's the last trophy,” Williamson told BBC Sport.

“Everybody wants it and the stage of women's football now, it's just so unpredictable. There's so many good teams - it becomes so much harder, which I think only makes you want it more.”

Under Sarina Wiegman, Williamson has been central to England’s success, guiding her country to back-to-back European Championship victories and the inaugural 2023 Finalissima title.

At Arsenal, she has also achieved everything domestically and in Europe, including the Champions League, the Women’s Champions Cup, the WSL, two FA Cups, and four League Cups.
