The PGA Tour's postseason gets underway this week as the FedEx St. Jude Championship starts the playoff events for the FedEx Cup.

The first event of the PGA Tour’s three-tournament post-season playoff event gets underway this week with the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The top 70 points leaders on the PGA Tour will now duke it out over the coming weeks to see who finishes the season with the FedEx Cup.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship is the first of the three playoffs and will see many of the world’s top players descend upon Memphis, Tennessee, to qualify for the next playoff. World Number One Scottie Scheffler won the FedEx Cup last year, but it was Hideki Matsuyama who won the St. Jude Championship last year with a score of 17-under.

Both players will be involved this week, but World Number Two, Rory McIlroy, will sit this one out, comfortable in the knowledge that he has enough points to make it through to the rest of the payoffs.

Prepare for a great four days of golfing action this week.

The FedEx St. Jude Championship key information

• Date: Thursday, August 7 - Sunday, August 10

• Tee times: TBC

• Venue: TPC Southwind, Memphis, TN

• TV channels: Sky Sports (UK)

• Odds: Scheffler (14/5) - Schauffele (16/1) - Aberg (22/1)

The Favourites

The favourite to win this year’s FedEx St. Jude Championship is The Open winner and World Number One Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler is having a great 2025, with the 29-year-old winning two majors: the Open Championship, won a couple of weeks ago, and his earlier PGA Championship win.

Second favourite at the bookmakers is Xander Schauffele. Whilst the American could not retain his Open crown this year, he still finished tied for 7th in that championship at 10 under. That was his best performance at a major this year, and he comes to TPC Southwind as number three in the world rankings.

There are three men down at 22/1 to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Ludvig Aberg has seen his form return to him in the latter end of the season after a slump in the middle that saw him miss cuts for the PGA Championship and the US Open. He can T23 at The Open and will be hoping his upturn in form continues. Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick is also on 22/1 after coming T4 at The Open, along with fellow countryman Tommy Fleetwood.

Others expected to challenge for the title are Viktor Hovland (25/1), Russel henley (25/1), Collin Morikawa (28/1) and Justin Thomas (28/1). Last year's winner, Matsuyama, is at 35/1 to win again.
