Royal Ascot returns this month, with the five-day festival of thoroughbred horse racing going to post on Tuesday, 17th June, taking followers through to Saturday, 21st June.

What lies between those dates is some of the best, most unpredictable and exciting races on the UK sporting calendar. The schedule includes multiple Group 1 and Group 2 fixtures, including the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, Coronation Stakes, Commonwealth Cup, the Gold Cup, and more.

The leading online gambling apps offer attractive betting odds and a wealth of interesting markets. You can enjoy the 2025 renewal of Royal Ascot in Berkshire, England, by predicting the winners and placing bets using your laptop or mobile device.

Royal Ascot 2025 details

Royal Ascot was founded in 1711 by Queen Anne following the purchase of land near Windsor Castle. The first race, Her Majesty's Plate, was staged in August of that year. Today, Royal Ascot is a global affair, attracting the best runners, riders, owners, trainers and fans from across the sport.

Racing begins every day of the festival at 14:30, running until 18:15, with the pick of the schedule broadcast live on ITV Racing and Sky Sports Racing. You can also livestream Ascot to your mobile device using the top betting apps, including bet365.

Top races and predictions

In this section of my Royal Ascot 2025 preview, I highlight the feature race of each day and offer the latest betting odds and predictions.

Queen Anne Stakes, Tuesday

A Group 1 race contested over the flat mile and open to four-year-olds and above. One of the best-loved mile races of the UK racing season kicks off the festival, giving bettors an opportunity to bag a winner early.

This year’s betting includes Dancing Gemini at odds of 11/2 with bet365, and the horse that was second favourite in the antepost betting has the qualities to delight backers. The four-year-old colt has run three times this season, winning twice and finishing at Newbury in the spare.

Tip: Dancing Gemini @ 11/2 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If your pick finishes first, your bet wins.

Prince of Wales’s Stakes, Wednesday

The flagship race on Wednesday is the 1m 2f Prince of Wales’s Stakes, which is another Group 1 affair. It’s the top middle-distance race at the festival and always draws a crowd at the venue and on TV.

Los Angeles was the 7/2 market leader in the antepost list with bet365. Aiden O’Brien’s four-year-old colt has raced twice this year and won twice, scoring at the Curragh on both occasions under the ride of Ryan Moore. He’s a great price to land the treble.

Tip: Los Angeles @ 7/2 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If your pick finishes first, your bet wins.

Gold Cup, Thursday

Ladies Day is always a sea of magnificent colour, with the fashion going close to upstaging the racing. The Group 1 Gold Cup is run over 2m 4f, is another open to four-year-olds and above, and ranks as the highlight for stayers.

Looking for a horse with big odds attached, but a solid chance of causing an upset? Fans love the Ascot Gold Cup as it often throws up a surprise in the result. Could Sevannas Knight be the latest to shock the odds at 14/1 (bet365). He recently finished second at Longchamp in the Group 1 Prix Vicier and finished in the top three in each of his last four outings. He’ll go close again in England.

Tip: Sevannas Knight @ 14/1 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If your pick finishes first, your bet wins.

Commonwealth Cup, Friday

The penultimate day of racing from Royal Ascot presents the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup over the six-furlong sprint distance. Take your seats and place bets early for this one, as it’ll run at a breakneck pace from start to finish.

The runner carrying our stake is Jonquil at 9/1 with bet365 – 8/1 at most other bookmakers. The improving three-year-old followed a win at Newbury off big odds with a silver medal finish at Longchamp over seven furlongs in a Group 1. He was beaten a head that day, and will appreciate the drop back in trip.

Tip: Jonquil win @ 9/1 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If your pick finishes first, your bet wins.

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, Saturday

The curtain goes down on Royal Ascot 2025 on Saturday, but not before we crown a new champion of the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. Another six-furlong sprint for the speed lovers, it’s open to four-year-olds and above. It attracts the top sprinters from world racing, making it unmissable for both avid and casual racing fans.

Storm Boy is the pick here, and we hope Brian Gubby’s four-year-old has reserved his best for the big occasion. The pick is improving with every run and placed third at Kempton over the distance in February. He’s enjoyed a bit of a break, and connections obviously think he’s ready to show his worth. If we see the kind of improvement promised, Storm Boy will outperform his odds.

Tip: Storm Boy @ 5/1 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If your pick finishes first, your bet wins.

Royal Ascot betting markets

In addition to the race-winner betting market, the best sportsbooks offer several intriguing markets and specials, ensuring there’s a bet to suit every race.

Here are the most popular horse racing betting markets after the race-winner option.

Antepost: One for those who like to get in early and secure better odds. The earlier you gamble on the biggest races from Royal Ascot, the better the odds. If betting antepost, make sure your bookmaker offers non-runner money back to cover any withdrawals.

Place: You can gamble on a horse to win a race, but did you know you can also wager on a runner to finish in the prize places. The place terms for races often range from two to four finishers. The bigger the field, the more places covered. In most races, you can follow a runner to finish first, second, or third.

Forecast: A horse racing betting market for those who like a challenge. With this market, you must predict which horse will win and which will finish second in the correct order. You can also do a reverse forecast that covers 1st/2nd and 2nd/1st.
