Wild 2-1 Blue Jackets
The Wild missed out on a perfect 5-on-3 opportunity after Columbus' Conor Garland and Charlie Coyle both drew minor penalties. Roles reversed later on when Minnesota's Zach Bogosian received a two-minute minor, and the Blue Jackets couldn't capitalise.
After going scoreless for the first 18 minutes of the match, Minnesota's Danila Yurov put the Wild on the board first. But the Blue Jackets needed just one minute to respond with a goal of their own.
Adam Fantilli recorded his second of the season, his first goal since the season opener, to tie things up 1-1.
The Wild went on the power play less than two minutes into the second period and that's when Kaprizov sent home his 10th of the season.
Minnesota went on to outshoot the Blue Jackets a whopping 34-14 as they improved to 6-2-1. Columbus sits second-from-last in the Eastern Conference as they fell to 3-4-0.
Flames 3-2 Hurricanes
After both teams failed on their lone respective power plays in the first period, it took six minutes into the second period for the game to see its first goal. Jesperi Kotkaniemi (2) did the honours as the Canes went up 1-0 a couple of minutes after they failed on their second power play.
Calgary failed on their second power play 10 minutes into the second, but they wouldn't be denied a third time.
Morgan Frost (3) scored the power-play equaliser with less than a minute to go in the second. That's when Carolina's Jalen Chatfield responded with the game-tying goal with just four seconds left in the period, also his first of the season.
After another failed power play on the lone penalty in the third period, Calgary's Yegor Sharangovich (2) sent home the eventual game-winner with less than five minutes left in the game.
The two teams combined for 70 shots on goal as Calgary's Devin Cooley finished with 32 saves to mark his first 30+ save performance of the season. Carolina fell to 7-2-1, while Calgary improved to 2-6-0.
