The 2025 summer transfer window has taken off with serious money being shed across Europe and beyond.

The window opened briefly for 10 days at the start of June, owing to the Club World Cup, then reopened from June 16th, where it will stay open until September 1st.

Plenty of cash has been dashed across the table and one would anticipate the spending spree will continue as major leagues gear up to get underway.

Here, Flashscore looks at the 10 most expensive transfers from the 2025 summer window so far, with fees mentioned excluding potential future add-ons.

The 10 most expensive 2025 summer transfers

10. Anthony Elanga (Newcastle) - £52m

Newcastle picked up Elanga, having been inspired by his two seasons with Nottingham Forest.

The former Manchester United winger joins the Magpies on a five-year deal as they look to replicate last campaign's success.

9. Martin Zubimendi (Arsenal) - £55m

Zubimendi's move to Arsenal has been in the pipeline for a while now as Mikel Arteta reshapes his midfield in the chase of the Premier League title.

The Spain international signed a five-year deal at the Emirates Stadium and reportedly turned down a switch to Liverpool last summer.

8. Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham) - £55m

With Champions League football to look forward to, Spurs made an eyebrow-raising £55m move to sign Kudus from West Ham.

The pacy Ghanaian winger impressed during two seasons with the Hammers, but made the switch across London to join the Europa League champions.

7. Joao Pedro (Chelsea) - £55m

Pedro is Chelsea's most expensive signing of far this summer after joining for an initial £55m from Brighton.

The 23-year-old Brazilian signed a mammoth eight-year deal and has already tasted success with the Blues by helping them win the Club World Cup.

6. Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal) - £55m

Centre forward has been a glaring weak point for Arsenal in their recent pushes for the title and they have sought to fix that with Gyokeres, who scored for fun for Sporting.

The Gunners paid around £55m up front for the former Coventry striker as he looks to crack the top flight properly this time around after failing to make a league appearance for Brighton.

5. Mateo Retegui (Al Qadsiah) - £56.4m

Last season's Serie A top scorer Retegui has become the most expensive Italian player ever after earning a £56.4m move to Al Qadsiah.

The forward's departure from Atalanta for Saudi Arabia will now see him earn a lucrative pay rise, reportedly worth £260,000.

4. Matheus Cunha (Manchester United) - £62.5m

United moved rapidly to secure a transfer for Cunha, who signed a new contract with Wolves earlier in the year in preparation for a summer move.

That contract included a £62.5m release clause, which United had little hesitation in activating.

3. Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United) - £65m

Mbeumo called joining United a "dream" after sealing an initial £65m move from Brentford.

It brought an end to a transfer saga that dragged on for several weeks and threatened not to happen due to the silence.

The deal comes with an extra £6m in bonuses, with Mbeumo signing a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

2. Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool) - £69m

Ekitike is the latest Liverpool signing as the Reds start to look in a different direction in terms of striker options.

The Frenchman scored 22 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt last season and will now test his abilities against the rigours of the Premier League.

1. Florian Wirtz (Liverpool) - £100m

Liverpool's £100m acquisition of Wirtz has the potential to break the British transfer record if the £16m worth of add-ons are achieved.

They fended off hefty interest from some of European football's giants to sign the German as they prepare to defend their Premier League title.
