Aoife Wafer has been ruled out of Ireland's opening match of the Women's Rugby World Cup as she is still recovering from injury.
The 22-year-old back-row forward has remained in Dublin to finish her rehabilitation from knee surgery last month and will not join the squad until next week.
That means the 2025 Women's Six Nations player of the tournament will miss Sunday's game against Japan.
"Thirty-one players have come through training," Ireland assistant coach Larissa Muldoon told reporters on Wednesday.
"Aoife Wafer stayed at home just to work on a few bits of rehab. She will join us next week in preparation looking into Spain."
