Scotland have beaten Canada 73-12 in the opening match of their summer Tour of the Americas.

Gregor Townsend picked five uncapped players in his line-up - namely Matt Currie, Arron Reed, Gus Warr, Max Williamson and Gregor Brown.

It was an impressive showing from the young Scots side, despite conceding a try in the opening seven minutes.

After the Canadians missed the following conversion, it was pretty much one-way traffic for the remainder.

Scotland took a 24-5 lead in at the break in Ottawa, before running away with it in the second half.

Scotland

Tries: Bayliss, Richardson (2), Reed (2), Warr (2), Paterson, Dobie, McDowall, Steyn

Conversions: Thompson (5), Healy (4)

Canada

A total of 11,447 rugby fans were in attendance to watch the match.
