The US Open is about to begin, and the world's best tennis players will be competing for the last major of the year. Starting on Sunday, August 24, the US Open finishes on Sunday, September 7, with the biggest prize pot in tennis history on offer.
On the men's side, Jannik Sinner will be hoping to make it back-to-back titles for himself; however, his main rival, Carlos Alcaraz, will be looking to claim his second US title ever. Novak Djokovic will be hoping to finally get his hands on his 25th Grand Slam title and stand alone as the player with the most Grand Slams ever.
On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka will be back to defend her title; however, there are several viable usurpers. Iga Swiatek is the bookmaker’s favourite after her Wimbledon victory, but Coco Gauff is also looking to be a top contender.
There are many big contenders from the British contingent heading over there, and, below, we look at how you can follow those Brits and all the players for the next two weeks of thrilling tennis action.
Who are the Brits in action?
There are six British players in action in the singles draw, three men and three women. British number ones, Emma Raducanu, who has returned to the sight of her most famous victory when she won the title as a qualifier back in 2021, and Jack Draper, are both drawn against qualifiers to start their bid for the 2025 title.
Two other women will take part in the US Open: British number two, Katie Boulter, and number three, Sonay Kartal, have both been drawn against seeded players, Marta Kostyuk (seeded 27) and Beatriz Haddad Maia (seeded 18), respectively.
Then there are two men as well, the unseeded Cameron Norrie and Jacob Fearnley, who both face tough tasks. Norrie will face the young American Sebastian Korda, whereas Fearnley takes on the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.
Raducanu is the first Brit in action as she faces her qualifier on Sunday.
