The last tennis major of the year is another hard-court affair as the best players in the world head stateside to compete in the US Open. The action has already kicked off with the revamped mixed doubles competition that took place during the qualifiers, but the main draw starts on Sunday, August 24.
Last year, the two singles titles were won by Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner, who both netted a healthy cash prize for winning. This year, however, that cash prize has increased, setting the record for the largest purse in tennis history.
Below, we look at how much is on offer this year and how that money has increased over the years.
2025 Prize money per round
This year, players will get a portion of the first tennis purse to reach $90 million. The men’s and women’s singles winners will be taking home $5 million each, which is the largest amount of winnings on offer in tennis.
