Dimitri Van den Berg has become the first Belgian to reach the last four of the PDC World Darts Championship with a nervy win over Jonny Clayton at the Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday.

Van den Bergh reached his maiden semi-final recording a 5-3 win over the former World Grand Prix and Premier League champion Clayton, hitting 13 180's along the way.

After clinching a double nine to seal his place in history, the 28-year-old, nicknamed 'The Ferret', took hold of a microphone and gave an impassioned speech in front of a lively crowd.

"I don't know how I feel," he said. "Everyone here is part of history.

"The first time a Belgian professional darts player is in the semi-finals of the world (championship). I am dead proud. Come on!"

"I am a young guy, I keep my feet on the ground and I get a whole lot of support... so on to the next round.

"From now on, I'm getting ready for that semi-final, and it doesn't matter who it is (against). I'm a dream-maker and I've got a dream," the world number 15 added.
