It is the final weekend of Wimbledon, it has been a memorable journey for all involved! Surprising early exits, underdogs, many underdogs, redemption stories and all of it is coming to an end. Novak Djokovic is clashing with Carlos Alcaraz but today our attention is focused on the women's action, follow it all on our Flashscore Tennis Tracker.

16:05 BST - What an effort by Vondrousova who very much came into the final as the underdog but on reflection, her victory today was a deserved one.

15:42 BST - After congratulating Jabeur for her tournament, Vondrousova labels tennis a "crazy" sport after having to come back over the last year.

"I had a cast this time last year, it's amazing I can stand here and hold this, tennis is crazy.

"The comebacks aren't easy, you never know what to expect."

15:40 BST - An understandably emotional Jabeur steps up to take the runners-up trophy - a tough one for her to take given she has already been here before.

Speaking on court, Jabeur claims today's defeat is the "most painful" of her career, but vows she will not give up and will "come back stronger".

"It's been a tough journey, but that's tennis," she added.

"I promise I'll come back one day and win this tournament."

Meanwhile, new women's champion Vondrousova has taken in the Venus Rosewater Dish and lifts it aloft above her head. A more than deserving winner.

15:28 BST - MARKETA VONDROUSOVA IS YOUR WIMBLEDON CHAMPION!

What a story as Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic beats Ons Jabeur 6-4, 6-4 to win the Wimbledon title.

At world ranking number 42, the 24-year-old has become the first unseeded woman in the Open Era to win the SW19 crown and the lowest-ranked player to ever win the event.

For Tunisia's Jabeur, it's Grand Slam heartbreak once again as she falters in the third major final of her career.

15:24 BST - Jabeur succumbs to the pressure and cedes the game to Vondrousova, who will now serve for the Wimbledon title! The unseeded Czech is one game away - what a moment this could be...

15:22 BST - Both players seem to have found some rhythm on serve as it's Vondrousova's turn to hold. Big game coming up on Jabeur's serve.

15:19 BST - A similar game follows suit but nonetheless, it's a hold for Jabeur and one that could be crucial in the grand scheme of things.

15:16 BST - Good hold for 3-3 by Vondrousova when it looked like Jabeur had been creeping back up from 30-0 up. That puts a little more pressure on Jabeur's next service game.

15:12 BST - Now that is a kick in the teeth for Jabeur as Vondrousova breaks straight back. That was an important game to get back for the Czech given how the set had been swinging towards Jabeur.

15:07 BST - Another break and three consecutive games for Jabeur! All the momentum is with the world number six now as she has the chance to build a gap in this second set.

15:03 BST - That's a menacing service game by Jabeur who has a spring in her step and consolidates for 2-1 after her frustration at the last few games. The momentum looks to be swinging back her way.

15:00 BST - Instant response! That is much better from Jabeur as she stops the rot to break Vondrousova back. She clawed back a 40-0 deficit before converting on a second break point. That could be just what she needs.

14:55 BST - Not the start to the second set that Jabeur was looking for as she is now a break of serve down and at risk of seeing things unravel. It's another loose game and the Tunisian continues to look bewildered as to what is happening.

14:50 BST - Game and first set - Vondrousova! What a start to the final for the undeeded Vondrousova, who capitalised on some poor games from Jabeur towards the end to take it 6-4. So far so good for the Czech on Centre Court.

14:47 BST - Vondrousova breaks! Big moment here in the first set as Vondrousova forces Jabeur into an error - she will now serve to take the opening frame.

14:43 BST - That's better from Vondrousova as she holds to consolidate that break. Still on serve at 4-4 in the first.

14:40 BST - But that's the game Vondrousova was looking for! She responds with three break points of her own and closes the gap again.

14:37 BST - Jabeur breaks and it came all too easy as three break points came her way. Not the game Vondrousova was looking for.

14:36 BST - That's a solid hold by Jabeur and one that was comfortable for her. A forehand winner finishes the game.

14:30 BST - Another nervy service game by Vondrousova allowing four break points, but she survives to hold. That could be a big confidence booster for her.

14:23 BST - It looked as if Jabeur would consolidate that break after building a 40-15 lead, but she lets it slip and Vondrousova breaks straight back! The Czech forced two break points and converts to bring the match back on serve.

14:14 BST - An early break for Jabeur! She fashioned two break points and then forced an error from Vondrousova, who could only backhand into the net. Early daylight for the Tunisian.

14:12 BST - Eventually a good start for Jabeur as she holds to get things going. The nerves could have got to her at 30-30, but she held out well to get on the board.

14:07 BST - We are underway in the women's singles final on Centre Court! Two-time finalist Ons Jabeur will serve to the unseeded Marketa Vondrousova first.

06:33 BST - Ons Jabeur is playing her second consecutive Wimbledon final and third Grand Slam overall, last year she lost to Elena Rybakina, a match she avenged in the quarter-finals of this edition. She got past world number two Aryna Sabalenka, and today for one last step to Grand Slam glory she must defeat Marketa Vondrousova.

The world number 42 missed the 2022 tournament and she could not have returned in better fashion, taking out fourth-ranked Jessica Pegula followed by Elina Svitolina in the semi-finals as she the Czech prepares for her first Grand Slam final against the world number six Tunisian.
