Liverpool continue their charge for double silverware, leading the Premier League and this UEFA Champions League tie 1-0 after a lucky victory against Paris Saint-Germain last week. Liverpool faced a barrage of shots before stealing the game with a Harvey Elliot goal in the 87th minute.

PSG dominated all the stats with 27 shots, 10 shots on target and 71% possession but were behind on the only stat that matters. Liverpool scored with one of their two shots in the game, the goal being their only shot on target.

The winner of this Champions League tie will play either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the next game, with either believing that they would be favourites to progress to the semifinals.

Liverpool team news

Coady Gakpo, Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez were all absent from Liverpool’s game against Southampton on Saturday. Both Bradley and Gomez have had longer-term thigh injuries and have been missing since February, but Gakpo was a late fitness call for the game and was not involved because of his ankle injury.

After the 3-1 victory, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said he does not think Gakpo’s injury is serious, putting the Dutch forward in contention to feature on Tuesday. Alexis Mac Allister, Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota did not start against Southamptom after starting against PSG, but all came on in the game and will likely be back in the starting line-up for PSG.

Where to watch on TV or live stream?

In the UK, the UEFA Champions League match between PSG and Liverpool will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon have first pick of the Tuesday Champions League matches, showing one game each gameweek.

Head-to-Head record

Both teams head into the second leg after wins in their domestic leagues, leaving them sitting pretty on top of their tables. Liverpool have not lost in their last five games (4W, 1D), with their only loss this calendar year coming in the FA Cup at Plymouth. The Reds are undefeated in their last 19 games at home since their defeat to Nottingham Forest in September,

PSG’s loss to Liverpool broke their 22-game undefeated streak and 10-game winning streak in all competitions. The Ligue 1 leaders and champions last lost in this exact competition to Bayern Munich in November and lost two of four of their away ties in the competition so far.

This will be the fourth match between Liverpool and PSG ever, also meeting in the 2018/19 Champions League, the year Liverpool won the whole thing, beating Tottenham Hotspur in the final 2-0. Both teams were drawn in Group C, with Liverpool winning the first game 3-2 at Anfield before PSG got their revenge at the Parc de Princes, winning 2-1.

With Liverpool’s win in the first leg, they now have a better head-to-head record against PSG and will be hoping to make that even better in the second leg.

Odds for Liverpool v PSG

Liverpool are always a danger at home, especially in the Champions League. Going into the game with a slender lead, they will be hoping that the home crowd will help push them through to the quarterfinals. They will also be hoping to put in a better performance than they did against PSG previously, playing pretty much the whole game on the back foot.

PSG will be looking to put in as good a performance as they did at the Parc de Princes but come out with a better result. Away at Rennes on the weekend they won 4-1 and will hope to ride that momentum into Tuesday night.

Bet365 have a Liverpool win at 23/20, whereas they have a PSG victory at 9/5. A draw is down at 29/10.
