Championship round-up: Birmingham bag win and Sunderland thumped

Birmingham ended a rotten run of seven games without a win on Monday with a hard-fought victory over Preston, while Leicester temporarily returned to the top of the Championship and Sunderland were pummeled at home by Blackburn.

Elsewhere there were important wins for QPR, Bristol City, Cardiff and even bottom-side Rotherham.
